Default Where to tap oil pan for turbo drain

Like the title says, I'm looking for the best place on my pan to tap my drain fitting from Huron Speed, I'll be having it welded to the pan for piece of mind. Just wondering where you guys put yours

I did it on the timing cover so it dumps the oil right between the oil pump bolts. Seems to work fine.

Anywhere but the bottom of your pan is fine. What you are trying to avoid by mounting it high on the pan is back feeding into the drain and causing a flow restriction.

hello! we recommend them to be placed above the drain plug, as high as you are comfortable. above the oil level when the pan is full!

Depending on the oil pan, I was able to tap and place a #10 right below my harmonic balancer-it leaves about 1/8" clearance bet the fitting and balancer, so the hole had to be accurate-a thinner front area like a Holley 302-2 pan it wouldn't work

Stock 98-02 fbody pan so I am not sure it'll work, its a bit thin up there as far as surface.
