Turbo sizing for single turbo stockish 5.3
new to forced induction, master of carbs and screwdrivers. i've narrowed it down to 2 units GT45 or on3 76. i know the on3 has a bigger compressor but being single is the bigger turbine GT45 gonna make more power? Engine is stock with reground cam with turboesque specs. megasquirt will handle the upgraded injectors and fackry coils. keeping this build cheap as its a complete restoration so going china turbo plus the T6 BW would be a pain to fit.

Just go with the GT45. If you do ever decide to upgrade to a T4 Borg Warner, the size difference between the two isn't that much. The turbine housings are almost identical. The On3 is a nice turbo, but the tiny turbine is better suited for low CFM and high pressure applications, like a stock cam or small cam 4.8/5.3 with a fair amount of boost.

Depends what size the GT45 is. Assuming you are talking about the 68mm, the On3 makes slightly better power. Look into some of the VS Racing turbo too. They are budget oriented and have proven to make good power for the price, in the Sloppy world.

as with everthing you have to build it to your goal,
even if your goal is burnouts, just let us know
everything else falls into place when you can reference it all off a common goal
so, quarter mile goal, hp goal?
just burnouts goal?
