The car drives very well and I'm pleased with how it turned out. It still has the plush blue cloth interior that rides like a couch!
No he's not. I swear he just weighed his and it was around 3100lb. I'll find out what it weighed and what he has removed. I know he replaced the seats with something else fairly plush and saved a bunch of weight. His car is still a 5.0l and he converted to a T5. It's lowered slightly as well. Was that your weight with you onboard?

I think it was 3485 with him in it before the most current weight reduction.

It's not pretty, but here you go:

The only reason I used it was because I had it laying around. I added some bracing to it because it looked like it could use it. After I got it installed and back on the ground, I remembered why I don't use them anymore... It moves the wheelbase forward an 1" or something like that. It doesn't scrub or anything, but I guess it just messes with my ocd.

Yeah, I'd really like to know what all he removed to get down that low. My car still has everything though: Power steering, power windows, power brakes, heater, a/c, full 4" exhaust (exits in factory location) w/ MF muffler, stereo with 2" dash speakers, RPS intercooler, full length MM subframes, etc.

This car isn't lowered. I guess the stock springs are just broke in. I know the rear springs have a different rate than a Mustang, so I haven't wanted to swap them.

I'll see him tomorrow and post a report. I know he removed the a/c, not sure why as it's a black car. It still has everything else, including stock K-member. No subframe connectors in it.

I'm very impressed with the 4" pipe over the axle. I built dual 3" on my Zephyr and it was a tight fit to clear the axle, control arms and floor.

Is that the feed line fitting on the back of the tank? It looks like it's in the middle of the tank. Maybe just the pic. How do you have it set up to get fuel from the bottom of the tank?

Cool thanks.

What year Zephyr do you have?

The big blue -12 bulkhead fitting in the middle of the tank is my feed. It has a 5/8" piece of aluminum tubing that goes to the stock basket in the tank where the factory lift pump sat:

It's a '78 Z7 coupe. Great idea on the feed line pick up! I'll run that one past my friend for his EFI conversion.

I had a 302 w/ f-cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, GT-40 intake, AODE, blah blah blah... in the LTD for about two weeks before I snatched it out for an LS.

My turd is still carb'd SBF. Very basic, fun driver. Eventually I may swap it. Too busy finishing another project right now.

And yes, it has a Fairmont front clip on it.

I can't wait to see how the LTD likes E and more boost!

Alright, his weight reductions are as follows:
A/c delete
Cruise delete
Tubular headers for cast iron manifolds
Ford motorsport dual hump crossmember
Aluminum radiator
Electric fan
Removed all 4 catalytic converters
Sound deadening under the carpet all removed
Steering wheel swap (He said the O.E. one is very heavy
Removed visors ( Us tall people don't need them, ha!)
Ashtray removed and gauges put in that spot
Power SN95 seats, soon to be swapped for manual Fox seats.
T5 for AODE

His car weighs 3300 with a full tank of gas, spare tire, jack and him in it. 3100 without. Weighed at a coal yard with a certified scale.

He is swapping the power windows for manuals from a Fairmont, Fox seats, loosing the spare and jack, going to aluminum wheels and aluminum heads. The car should be under 3000lbs at that point.

Cool thanks for the update. I see a few things in that list that I still need to do. I'm thinking mine will be 3100-3200 w/o me this next time around.

Not a big update, but before I was using the truck FPR with the Aeromotive pump and was seeing way too high (70 psi) rail pressure. I tried to back it down but it wouldn't back down more than 1-2 psi. I capped it and added a aeromitive FPR and was able to get the rail psi down to the 43 psi that the Holley 120 lb/hr injectors are rated at. I'm going to try and make it to the track this coming weekend.

I support the LTD builds, love mine, I need to get it back together. I did the hidden turbo setup on mine.
