My policy is, play with what you have first before spending money. I was considering buying the adjustable rears for the RR squat my car does as well. Then I thought "I wonder if those old air shocks will still hold air?". So I got an air line kit for free from the parts house. (who uses air shocks anymore?) LOL. Then I started adding pressure slowly to the R shock only. 60 foots slowly dropped from 1.64-1.66 to 1.58-1.60. And it really helped plant the ET Streets. The down side was it will pick both tires out of the beams sometimes and give you a big fat red-light.
Check that pinion angle just in case it's way off. I bet it'll be close though. These cars squat badly in stock form.
On a side note. My buddy with the LTD LX just bought a set of doors for his from a Fairmont that are manual windows, manual locks and no vent windows. I'll let you know the weight savings when he weighs it again. He also just got Fox seats. Wow are they lighter.

I agree with the "work with what you have" philosophy. It doesn't squat to one side, it's actually a very level transfer.
I can check the pinion angle, but there's no way I can adjust it with these control arms. I think it's -4* for a rear suspension with all non solid bushings? I'll just try to throw more power at it out of the hole. I think that's how I got the 1.78 to start with.
I was thinking about cutting the door bars out to loose some weight, but it is a lot of trouble and it's still a street car. Will the window assemblies from a Fairmont/Zephyr fit in and ltd door? I have another set of Zephyr doors but they're for a two door (guess those wouldn't fit).

The problem with squat is, it's the unloading action that causes the squat, not the planting of the tires. That's good that it is even. Probably the tight front end is helping.
Throw the coal to it! Worst that can happens is sit and spin.
The F/Z doors are the same door. So you would need a 4 door F/Z with manual stuff and with wing windows. And yes they will swap. Just remember trim panels become a bit of a pain to figure out, i.e. crank handles, no switches. You need those from the F/Z donor and probably dyed or reupholstered. It's a large commitment. I'll let you know how my buddies come out.

Looks like there is very little front end separation. Loosen the front rebound and remove the swaybar first, those are no cost options. If it hooks at the line then spins a car or two out then I suspect you need a softer front spring under 200# for adequate weight transfer.
A better video would help a ton. Try to get a straight side shot or rear 3/4 view at launch up close. Then you can see how the weight is transferring and see on the video (in slo mo) when the tires spin. If you can film it in a slo mo option, even better. No reason for you not to be 1.5x or better 60' on the 17s.
Love the LTD BTW.

When I ordered the front coilovers, they were supposed to be 200# springs but when I got them they were 250#'s. I didn't really want to deal with sending them back blah blah, so I just rolled with them. I can't adjust my shocks because they're just Monroe stock replacements. I didn't even know my buddy was video taping the passes, so next time I'll get him up to speed on where to stand to film. I'd love to get some 1.5 60's!
Thanks for the compliment. I enjoyed watching your Nova build as well. It turned out nice. I know you'll be glad when your suspension comes in and you get some better passes with it. That's crazy those 235's were rubbing, must have been the wrong bs on the wheels?

Ok, first off: I'm a moron these Nitto's aren't even a drag radial haha my mistake. So I guess I'm not as disappointed anymore.
I went to my first no-prep race over the weekend and placed 3rd. The car did very well but I had to pull a good bit of power just to get down the track. My best et was a 7.0x and my best mph was 106.x. I did get some decent 60's just rolling out on it 1.7-1.8's. It was fun but now I'm ready to throw on my drag tires and turn it up!

Yeah I wasn't to excited about the whole no prep thing. I totally agree it's a disaster waiting to happen. My first pass I had the same tune-up in it from last weekend and spun the whole way down.
I hope to leave on boost and get it into the low 1.4's. I'm going to move some weight around in the car too. I ran with a 12 gallon fuel tank in my trunk to try and help out with traction.

That thing is going to be fun with "good" tires on it!
And I have to second the "No prep" racing. I just don't get it. I work hard on my **** and want to keep it straight and running. I understand the challenge of it, but tearing stuff up sounds like too much work, hahaha!
My buddy is getting the doors today. He is gutting the rears on site to just take what he needs and taking the complete fronts.

Ask him to weight the door bars if he can. I'm interested to know if it's worth my trouble to open the doors up and remove the extra weight. I know the door bars in my Zephyr were very heavy, just not sure on the LTD.
Thanks for the compliments guys. I have a set of Bogarts w/ 235 M/T's to throw on there for my next track outing (to a prepped track).
