Default Smoke coming from oil fill cap

I have a 4.8 with the Denmah turbo kit from VS Racing in my 1971 Camaro. It has been fine since October. I took the car out today and made a third gear pull. I noticed some light smoke coming into the vehicle after the pull. I checked under the hood and found that there was smoke coming out of the hose hook up on the valve cover. I took the oil cap off and then it started coming out there. It seems to be pumping out as the engine idles. I am going to do a compression check because I am suspecting that I hurt a ring. Any other ideas or has anybody seen this before?

Change anything in the tune? I've had this same thing happen from a weird change in a tune, related to a vacuum source. Too much fuel, not enough timing.

Fixed that, and the smoke went away. Could be a number of things if the compression check comes back OK.

Depends on the amount of smoke and whether its really smoke. My turbo 02 SS did the same thing at idle but it was only a little bit and wasn't puffing out just kinda rolling out. I removed the filter and ran the hose to the turbo inlet, been that way for two years and the bitch still runs like a scalded ape lol.

That's what it was doing looked like a steam engine. 150psi in all cylinders except #7 45psi. I think we have a winner

Burn. Sorry to hear that. However, the bright side? Forced upgrade?

Lame, time for forged pistons and rods. Then more boost!

Well tore it down and not a speck of metal in the pan, top of the piston looks good and so does the bore Maybe it was a stuck valve. I am just I already bought an 05 6.0 for a steal. Atleast now I have the gen 4 rods and Pistons. I will be pulling pistons and putting new rings and it will be my back up motor. While I was at it I switched the GT45 69mm for a VS Racing 78/75

Have you pulled the pistons yet and looked at the ring lands? Bob
