Available in a T4 or T3 housing. I went with the cheaper .84 T3. They shot down my $225 offer and took my $230 offer. So $460 shipped for the pair.

The boxes they came had “HX-40” stamped on them. The “.84 T3” housing looks to be a 16-18cm Holset exh. housing with a 4” v-band discharge. More like a 1.21-1.37 AR if you use the popular CM to AR conversion charts.

Double checked the wheels and the advertised dimensions appear to be correct.

Compressor Housing:
4" Inlet Diameter
2.5" Outlet Diameter

Compressor Wheel
.70 A/R
IND 72.35 MM
EXD: 102.86MM

0.84 A/R T3 4" V-band discharge
Turbine Wheel
IND 79.00MM
EXD 68.40MM

Looks like they also have an updated comp wheel design with extended tips. Machining of the comp housing left some cast flashing that looks like it could take flight at any moment. I’ll file those down down before I run it. Aside from that it looks like a nice piece…kinda like most china turbos these days. Time will tell. Hope I can spool the bastards with a JY LS!

Are these going on the RX7 or another project?

I picked up a new project, I’ll make a build thread once I actually accomplish something on it. Just stockpiling parts right now.

Those should compliment that junkyard LS nicely.

Also noteworthy is the T3 housing. Weird design. Almost looks like a surge housing on the exhaust side. Not sure what the idea behind that design is. But it is going to make packaging a PITA. Think I’ll neck it down to 3” as quick as possible. What’s annoying is it looks like the t4 housings are actually smaller and have 3” vband outlets that would have been much easier to work with. For the extra $40 I should have just gone that route.

Man, that turbine housing looks like it is intended to be some sort of an anti-reversion mechanism or something... Kind of cool other than being a PITA. Lol

I noticed that. Compressor housing on mine look much larger. too.

Your compressor wheel look larger in the housing than mine does. Mine were also polished and didn't have the vac/boos nipple fittings.

$460 for a pair of turbos shipped, if they perform, you can't argue with that!

I can't wait to see the new project!

I was originally going with the $190 shipped gt45's. But they raised he price to 210 lately. Was hoping these would be a little smaller and easier to package. They are 25lbs each and dimensionally very similar to a gt45.

Went with the easiest platform I could think of. No more custom fab! Bolt on a million aftermarket parts and go. Just a roller, won't be done for awhile.

I can't wait to see how you do that one! I'm betting you have a very comprehensive bang-for-the-buck setup planned out for it.

I was thinking about buying these kind of turbos. But ended up buying a rebuilt t76 from a turbonetics vendor. Rebuilt to new spec. W a 90 day warranty. For 500$.
Think these will be pretty reliable?

Won't be done for a while? It didn't take you long to do anything on the Rx7 and everything was custom! The notch is basically a bolt together! Good luck, can't wait to see it out.
