Default Build LQ4 or buy a built 5.3 for 750 fwhp?

Hey everyone,

I am just getting started on my twin turbo build. It will be going into a 1971 cutlass. Car will be mostly street driven.

Goal is ~750 fwhp.

I have already purchased a 70,000 mile lq4 and 4l80 for $1100.00.

After tear down and inspection, The plan was to put new head gaskets, springs, cam, rod bolts, twin turbo set up, and see what I could do. (i know I don't need twins for this....but that is what I am doing)

Now, a 50,000 mile 5.3 with the following has come up for sale locally for $1600. Engine has 0 miles since upgrades.
Comp hardened pushrods
Comp double valve springs
Comp double roller timing chain
Ls7 lifters
Brute speed forced induction cam
Arp rod bolts
New rod bearings
Arp head studs
Ls9 head gaskets
Arp cam bolts

Given my goals, should I just go with this 5.3 and try to sell the lq4? Is the lq4 worth the additional time and effort? Thoughts? What would you do?

Stick with the 6.0, and through a set of forged pistons and I-beam rods for reliability.

I would stick with your original plan, run the 6.0 with good head gaskets, and get on with it.
