91.5 turbo question

I decided to sell my race car and keep the motor and turbo. It was in a notchback mustang. I went back to a f-body. 2000 firebird.

Setup is following

-370ci motor
-Dart Pro1 250cc runner heads cnc'd
-carb intake with 90mm tb
-160# injectors
-91.5 turbo
-4l80 trans
-big air2air intercooler
-not sure what gear I will be using.

I will be using this car as a street car with a/c fully functional everything. It will have a road race suspension as well. I was considering going twin turbo but I will have to sell this turbo. What do you all think on my just using my 91.5 turbo?

I use that turbo in a 6.2 street car..

It's laggy, something smaller would be more fun for sure. But it's cool looking, and what I happen to have at the time

Is there any way to help with the lag? like changing the a/r housing to a smaller housing? How laggy is it? Thanks. Im trying to sell this turbo locally but no bites at this time.

By the time that turbo comes online......you will probably forget why you were standing in it lol. Should be stupid fast once spooled though.

Is it a cast wheel 91? I haven't seen one of those 91/91.5's in a long long time

Engine, camshaft, converter, turbine wheel and housing sizes are all going to determine how it acts.

Camshaft will make a big difference in how it spools as will the converter.

It's honestly a little big for a street oriented 370" motor. If it were a more race oriented set-up then it would be fine. Building boost from a roll on the street is a totally different ball game than building boost on the transbrake with a bump box and a two step.

A S480, 96mm turbine, billet wheel with the new compressor cover will easily make 1000+rwhp on your set-up and spool faster than the 91.5. As would a set of 60-62mm twin turbos.

Mine is a stick shift, it's already got the 1.0 f trim exhaust side.

Only thing to make it spool faster would be to get more aggressive with the tune pre boost? Or get the motor to make more power NA..

Like Martin said.

A 96mm turbine 80mm would spoil quick and make fuck tons..

I just used this turbo assuming I would eventually have a big in motor in place.
