Default Twin GT45's... anyone done it?

Tossing around the idea of trying them out on a 5.3 and super light car (2800 raceweight). Just found out I'm going to be a dad which I'm super excited about but I am going to sell a few high end parts although I'd still like to finish my car and have fun.

Has anyone tried twin GT45 eBay turbos on a 5.3 or 6.0? We know they are capable of 650-700whp As denmah has proven that time and time again and he'll for 189$ each shipped that's a bargain! The only issue I see is the big 1.05AR housing, wish someone made smaller housings for them.

Gen4 5.3
799's
TBSS intake
E85
1.69 Glide
3.70 Gear
2800lbs

At what point do we start looking into an aftermarket intake like a hi ram or pro flow? I would think this combo would want to leave at 4000-4400 and 10-15psi and shift upwards of 7500rpm.... should I be looking at a hi ram instead of the truck manifold? I know truck intake will make more torque at lower rpm but 4K+ rpm is already passing that "mid range" torque everyone likes from the stock intakes.

Im sure the turbos would work but that gear seems very high for a turbo setup, everyone ive seen has done a 3.23 or 3.25 or whatever..3.70+ are for like NA nitrous setups to give you more torque to make up for the lack of FI I believe...not 100% sure since this is my first turbo LS but I have turboed my integra GSR, and owned a SRT4 -RIP srt was a fun car- and they both had lower ish gears with turbo's. My concern would be running outta turbo/gear with such a high ratio dif gear.

Most people running high gear (2.73-even 3.25) are usually running 3 speeds, not a 1.69 glide. The gear will work great.

So I shouldn't run a 3.25 in my t56?

Bingo! Also this is a 1/8 only car. And going by the math 3.70 gear still might be too tall, I have a 4.10 in the car I'm going to try with a 29.5 tire. Goal is 132-133 to the 1/8. 5% slip, 29.5 tire and 4.10 gear puts me at 6600 thru the traps going 134.

Whether or not I can get these 77mm turbines to spool is another question lol. PTC usually can build converters lose as hell down low but still lock up really tight on the big end and produce low slip numbers
