I'm just testing on wastegate right now, I can probably get them to spool even faster once I turn the boost controller on. Really not much difference in spool time then my previous single setups.

I agree completely different results and I'm not sure how you couldn't get these things to jam out. Something was certainly amiss in that log you posted, twin S400's spool faster then that 5 second delay. I would certainly be pissed if mine were that laggy but I'm happy with them so far.

Leave off idle from a stop and see how long they take to spool?

I'm looking forward to flogging these at the track, if they don't go 145+ on wastegate I'd be shocked. I found a fair amount of good results on the bullet and other forums but it was from guys running them on 400+ CI combos making north of 1200whp. So it seems its certainly more turbo then needed for a 5.3L but room to grow is good. Efficiency is also nice, having a maxed out single got old and the nice ones are expensive so these fit the price point and I hopefully wont need to run 35psi to make them jam out.

Not sure why anyone would ever leave off idle but I can give that a try, honestly with my setup I cant really leave off idle but I'll get it as close as I can prolly 1200RPM or so. But I doubt that will be any slower to build boost then a second gear roll from 1500RPM, figure first gear from 1200RPM is only going to spool faster. Granted that will be just for ***** as I would leave off the two step in any situation that mattered.

Doing the slowest launch I can from the lowest rpm ~1100 from the time I touch the gas to the time its hits 15psi its right at 2.5 seconds, that's including the time letting out the clutch. I would normally launch ~4000rpm off the two step in boost drastically reducing that time.

I have found that stick shifts build boost way faster that autos.

Any logs showing it going from WOT at say 2300rpm as you say to see how fast it builds boost ?

Obviously nobody really drives like that, but if they're spooling fast in that scenario, it's clearly a good sign.

They do seem to build boost pretty quick.

I'd prolly have to do 2300 on purpose for some reason I default to about 3k rpm from a roll.

Off the 2step from releasing the pedal to 14.5PSI is a **** hair under a second. I don't think that's too hateful.

So the spool reference isnt real world driving, on the road etc? It's only via a 2step ?

I only mentioned 2300rpm as you used it as a reference earlier in the thread, 3k would be fine too, but just trying to get a real world picture of how they perform at the low end.

Earlier was absolutely just driving around real world, smacking throttle and letting it eat. I just did some two step tests to see how much quicker it would spool off the line and to make sure nothing broke before going to the track. Really they spool just fine either way. If someone had a single 88 on a 5.3 I doubt they would notice a difference with these other then being faster per lb of boost.

I'm actually putting together a small build for my daily silverado. And I just bought another set of these with .88 a/r housings, I hope they light off quick like the guy mentioned above!
the setup consists of....
L33 5.3 (re-honed the cylinders/ Gapped the rings)
CNC ported 799 Heads
Twin Billet S369 (.88 a/r turbine housings)
BTR Twin Turbo Stage 2 Cam
E85
4L80e (HD2 Shift kit)
PTC 9.5" Billet Converter
A2A Intercooler

Certainly my billet 64's on a 6.3 dont spool anywhere near as fast as the claims above. If I genuinely thought 69's with the larger turbine would spool much faster, I'd have bought a pair already, but would love to see graphs of boost vs rpm/time from 2300rpm mentioned above.

If I ever get off of my rump and finish mine I would be more than happy to post up logs.

How fast did you go with the 369's? Mine went 158MPH on 24-25lbs with stock 5.3 862 heads.

Turns out they went 152 first hit, gave them a little more out the back went 156, then went 158 with 5% more.

I never went to the track with them. I went 5.7@122.5 with the PTE 6766s at 28psi and 4200lbs a few weeks ago.
