Default Mild built lq4... s400 for street 600hp?

Hey guys, new to the boost world. Build is a 93 s10 previously a sbc355, now a boosted lq4 with cleaned up 317 heads, 80lb injectors, ls1 intake, as well as a cam and valve train upgrade (haven't decided on a setup yet). Stock lower end (for now). My goal is 600hp reliable street truck. Won't be a daily, just a nice weather toy. I'm looking into a s400 t6 with 1.32 a/r. What's everyone's recommendation on a turbo? Under $1000... Im not too concerned with spool rpm but would like full spool around 4k rpm.

Thanks in advance! This is my first post!

Its won't take a big turbo at all for that kind of hp honestly buy Noone is ever happy with the hp they start with so leave some room to grow for sure ask me how I know

Thanks for the reply, I was going to start easy at 10 pounds and see where it got me, you think id have better luck with higher boost on a smaller turbo?

Getting a T6 like that, in a S10 is going to be kind of a bitch, but I guess it depends on what options you want left, and what layout you want under the hood.

I think we need to make a S10 turbo thread, where we all stick S10 turbo layouts with all of the info of the build, including piping size, turbo size etc.

Post up pics if you have anything started!

I think that'd be a great idea rp. And tbh I don't see fitment being an issue. Radiator is going to be recess inside the support, battery is in the cab, and no Ac, just power steering, water pump and alternator. No pics but I've seen it done by another user. Any suggestions on other turbos that will get me to my goal?

I would like to add that the truck is ready to handle power. Currie 9" rear, custom 31 splines, locker with 3.89 Richmond gears, competition Engineering Cal-Tracs, qa1 adjustables for the rear. For the front, all new steering components, new lower control arms, and tubular uppers to free up space as well. Also, 90/10 drag shocks up front.

I made over 600 rwhp with an On3 7665 on my LQ4. You don't need an S400 chassis for that much power. I'd pick up a VSRacing 7875 if I were you.

I know a guy that will sell his brand new on3 7664 for $250. Is that too small or should I just step right to an s400? I will be looking to make bigger power in the future.

Personally, I would get either the T6 S475 for ~$650 or the VS 7875 for $400.
