That sucks. I still have mine but it just didn't feel right in the truck. May have been a combination of a crappy rebuilt transmission with issues every time I put it in the truck but I'm done with it now. It's at trans-king now. They cut it open for me and said everything looked good inside. Said it would cost me around 320 bucks to get them to re-stall it and ship it back too me. That's when I decided to go with the freakshow. So I guess I always have the option to call them back and get them to redo it....then I suppose it would be a trans-king convertor lol.

New problem just started happening a month or so ago and I hope someone can help out. I started the truck one day and it idled for 15 or 20 seconds and it just died. I cycled the key and you could hear the throttle body do it's test but the fuel pump want kicking on. Checked fuses and relays and those were fine. Pulled connectors out of the ecu and plugged back in and the truck went back to working like normal. Couple days later it did it again. It's been fine for over a month now and yesterday it happened again. Only thing I do is unplug connectors a few times until the fuel pump turns on with the key. Anyone else ever have a similar issue like this?

Had some extra 4" pipe so I ran it further out the back. It looks like hell but it'll work.

Sweet! The placement i'm planning for my turbo will be about the same spot as yours. Do you think i could sneak the AC under there? I've not had ac in years and want it on my old truck....this getting old thing sucks...

Man I. Really not sure. I believe the frame is in the way on my truck. I if yours is the 6t body style you might have more room. I'll snap some pics when I get home In a few weeks. I'm off working right now. Your best option might be a relocation bracket.

Did you solve the pump issue? Sounds like a loose relay. If it becomes more frequent wire tie it and/or tighten the pin receptors.

its not the relay because thats what i thought it was as well. i even swapped them out. it only did it once this time i was home and that was it. all i do is unplug the harness from the ECM a few times and it starts working again. im going to check the pins next time im home and see if any or loose or bent. also going to spray some electrical spray on them and see if that helps.

on i different note i have a fuel tank out of a escalade that i got with the engine but i have never used. i have the sending unit assembly and i been thinking about just sitting the tank in the bed of my truck and strapping it down and buying a couple 450lph pumps. or 1 for now and add a second later. just not sure ill enjoy that huge *** tank sitting in the bed. the one i have now is in the bed because the welds kept cracking with it hanging under the bed in between the frame rails.....i didnt have it supported correct so its really my fault. but anyways i guess its an option. i think its a 26 gal which would be a great increase over the 15 or 16 gal i have now.

I found one from a friend for 200. Hd2 is around 120 and then the convertor is good night to be 500+. Also going to get a 4l80e manual controller from Jake's and that's 240. So I'm looking at a price close to 1300by the time I get fluid and whatever else im forgetting. Sucks ***. Funds reat right now with Xmas and a few other things. Truck is my daily when I'm home from work and having to always work on it doesn't make the wife all that happy.

Don't have that harness on the truck. It's for a 4l60 so I would still have to buy that adapter harness to use that one. So the extra 100 for it to be manually shifted would be easier for me.

Google how to make a 80e a full manual. There is a video guy shows how to do it. Change 3 wires inside the pan on the pressure switch. Makes a full manual 80e.

Don't sell it bud. I went through the same ****. Kept wanna to fix what I already had. Mine was a 6l80e. I had started to hate my car. Finally went 4l80 and wished if done it from the first. Now I love my car again and it's moles of smiles.

Just finished putting in a th400 I got from a friend. It's stick but hopefully it'll work for now. 150 bucks. As long as it shifts ok I'll be happy for now. Got to put in the 5lb spring and just cruise for now till I figure out what the next move is. I can pick up a 4l80 from another friend for 200 bucks. Then I'll have to get a convertor. That's 500 there for a budget one. Off for a test drive. Maybw I'll have good news to post here shortly.
