Engine is 05 5.3 sbe with 170k+ miles. Only changes so far are springs/pushrods and injectors. Ordered cam so it'll be here in a few days. (Got the jegs 228/230). Built the turbo kit and stand alone harness myself and do my own tuning. Th350 trans with revmax 3000 stage 4 convertor. Stock 10 bolt rear end with Spartan locker and 2.73 gears. I'll try and get pics loaded soon.been trying for an hour now and they never loaded up. It's getting frustrating.

Kyle.t91 12-31-2016 02:31 PM

Nevermind. I guess they did load

hell yeah tire destroyer

Turbo is currently a gt45. Hotside is 2.¼ divided all the way to the turbo. Going to be buying a VS racing billet 7875 soon. Boost is about 7lbs. Tires are et Street SS(275-60-25). Stock axles. And brakes all around. Not sure on the drop. Stock rear leafs with overload spring removed. Flip kit and caltracs. Havnt been to the track or dyno so no numbers. It's a semi-daily driver so I can't get crazy with it lol. Using innovative SCG-1 for wideband/boost controller. It ok so far. Anything else you would like to know feel free to ask.

Are you running truck manifolds on that? Curious about the amount of space around the steering gear box.

Kyle.t91 01-04-2017 09:12 AM

Yes stock truck manifold. They go up and forward so there is plenty of room. When I get home this weekend ill snap a few pictures for you if you like.

These pics aren't of my truck but I built the turbo kit so it's identical to what mine looks like. Hope that helps. If not let me know and I'll take some this weekend.

I saw it over on the turbo forums, makes perfect sense now, thank you.

Went to get some fire wood today. Had too much at first and had to unload the huge logs ;). Still nice having a truck at times.

What are you running for a fuel system?

Has an aluminum fuel tank mounted between frame rails with aem 380lph pump VS racing fpr. Feed line from tank to the pump is 8an. 6an from pump output to fpr up to stock fuel rails with 80# injectors.

Pretty cool-do you remember what the radiator hoses came off?
I am putting a 5.3 in my 70 C10 stepside shortbed-a lot of body work
to do yet

Lower hose is a universal flex hose from O'Rileys and the top is the stock hose off an 05 that's ben cut and flipped around and....custom lol. Radiator is a duel pass 2 core from speedway motors. Think it was 170 bucks. Never have any issues with overheating.

Found a couple pics on my phone.

Got the cam slid in this morning. Took about 4 hours with running to get new water pump gasket. Didnt have no major issues. Used 5/16 wooden Dow rods to hold lifters up but I was still worried to pull the cam out since the lifters were still wanting to fall back down. After a nervous 3 minutes the new cam was in and I was happy. Fired right up and now just need to retune. I'll be working on that tonight. I took a video but it sounds really bad since my phone videos aren't that great.

Nice, I need to get off my ass and work on mine this weekend

Kyle.t91 01-15-2017 07:39 AM

Get out there. I'm always messing with mine. I got to check the rockers this morning in and make sure there all right. Getting some extra noise( which I read is normal after a cam and spring install)so I'm just going to double check. Also going to drop the pan on the trans and check that out. It's been acting funny so I'm looking for clutch material in the pan and clogged filter.
