Got some work done on the Z today. Pulled the engine and trans out. Was a PITA to get out idk what Nissan was thinking when they built this damn thing smh. That's why it's getting a good ol LSX swap. Also got my turbo and other parts in

i had one of these back in the day. I think it was an amazing car for what it was. The primary shortfall were the crappy brakes. Clean versions hold their value well. i sold my 93 in 99 with 85k miles and a JWT kit for 13,000. 18 years later, they are still selling for that much (clean version).

Will be interesting to see where you go with this and the results you get.

Got the engine and transmission pulled out the Z sold the VG for $300 to my classmate. Goodbye V6. Also took the engine to my professor to get hot tanked and measure the bores to see if it's standard bore. Then gonna hone it.

Been awhile since I've had an update so ya go lol

Got some more goodies this week. Bought my buddies ECU tuned by the infamous DENMAH. It's the black 300zx that he tuned on YouTube awhile back. I hope it works out since he was running a 4.8 and I'm running a 5.3 but who cares lol. I also bought his wiring specialties harness for the 300zx to LS1.

Next on the list will be an adapter for the z32 trans to mount to the 5.3. Probably going to go with the G Force adapter. LS6 cam, I can't find any Ls1 manifold for under $200 (I refuse to pay anymore for one lol) said I'm going to run a shaved truck intake, 80# injectors, and a nice z32 clutch. I was challenged by my teacher at school for a 1/4 race in his 68 nova so I'm a bit pressed on time aha. I need to get this thing moving so I can get some seat time lol

How much did you pay to get the cylinder walls honed/cleaned up? Did you do your crank as well?

Does that black Z have AC? Any details on his build? It looks clean. Good luck on your build. What are you doing for exhaust manifolds?

Cool build man! As you can see, I did kinda the same, but I went with twins and a T56. The 300zx is a SUPER fun car with a LS in it! Should have came with a V8 to begin with!!

i don't believe he does have A/C but LOJ conversions makes a kit to run the factory z32 ac system but you have to have the ls7 accessories. He was running I believe 15# thru a on3 76mm on a 5.3. I want to say it netted him around 560 he sold me the stock ecu and wiring and I believe he's going Holley. His IG is slicks24 cool guy.

im actually going twins will be using the stock manifolds
