a little more progress on the build. Went with smaller twins (56mm) due to the small amount of space I had to deal with. Working on getting the intercooler mounted. Also the engine fired up but due to a fuel leak I couldn't keep it running long enough. So once my fittings come in I can fire it up and get a video of it

Also found out I bought a th250 instead of a 350 so I ditched that and grabbed a Powerglide. Rebuilding it to handle 1000+

Default 4th gen rods

In the picture of your swap to 4th gen rods it looks like you reused your 3rd gen pistons. Is that correct? I ask because I did the same, press fit pistons with floating rods. Can't find any info of anyone doing the same. I haven't run the engine yet but it seems to fit fine. The press fit pins seem to be a little larger than the floaters and fit tight in the floating rods.

My buddy is running 2 of those Turbones on a stock longblock Ford 5.0 swapped in a Ranger. They perform like crap to say the least. They make about the same power as stock 0.63/0.60 T3 junkyard turbos at 18psi, and make less than the junkyard T3s did at 12psi.

I hope your results are different.

I had the same turbos on a gen 3 5.3 with a turbo cam. 280z with a t56 did 141 mph in the 1/4 on 14 lbs.

what size motor did you go with? Once I tickle high 8s on this 5.3 I'm either going to bore it out to a 3.80 for forged pistons and rods or build an iron 370

We did a 5.7 with 317 worked heads and a Martin from Tick performance spec'd cam thru a T56. All forged internals, LS6 intake on E85.
