Default Twin turbo ls3 turbo selection

Hi I am building a turbo ls3 as we speak and now I am looking into what turbos to buy, I am looking into twin borg warner s200 or twin s300, I am not sure what size turbos to get as well as rear housing size and flange? I do want to have decent spool up. My goal is 700hp.

Two of these would work nicely and be a lot of fun on the street...

I'd do T4 or I think BW now offers stainless turbine housings with v-band inlet. A/R will depend on if you want boost early or be able to carry power later.

Just curious why are s200 turbos more than the s300 if the s300 is bigger? The s300 can be bought for 350

The sxe series is more expensive because they use a billet compressor wheel. The compressor maps are more suited for lower boost and higher flow.

Why is anything mass produced cheaper than lower volume units ? 300's are often found on diesel engines, hence there are perhaps millions out there in some shape or form.

As for which, just search the Gen5 forum, there are literally hundreds of TT users out there and many many threads and info on that forum.

Just one thread. But a pair of 256's for example would easily meet your goals, you could go even smaller.

I have to say twin s366 turbos. I run a 408 stroker. It hits 10lbs within 2-3 seconds and 18lbs 2-3 seconds after that. Hit 18psi today, broke some 325/50/15 drag radials loose at 120mph. Car is absolutely insane. Oh yeah, I'm on pump gas 91 and a super rich and conservative tune.

A 408 is not the same as a stock LS3...and what you're describing is not what I would call "responsive."

What S300 are you finding for $350? Are you looking at china knock off's or genuine BW?

I'd definitely look at twin T4s... you can run billet 6468s or similar with ceramic ball bearings from Turbonetics for a good price or 6766s from Precision. And two of those could hit 1250rwhp... and they spool very quickly with a smaller A/R. And they use 3" v-band type downpipes.

The car is still untuned and pig rich. I'm talking AFRs in the 9s. When the car is tuned I'm sure it will be a lot different.

He had a target goal of 700hp...he doesnt really need 1500hp worth of turbo.

Well...he says he doesnt at the minute. 700hp does seem like an overly low goal lol.

This.. 2 or 3 seconds? Lol! My 66/65's would be in full boost in less than 1.

BWS366 turbos are a terrible recommendation for this setup.

I agree, IMO a pair of BW s356/68 with T4 .88 a/r would be about right and spool well.

I've got a 5.3/blow through carb in a 69 C10 thats currently got a single s366 and it very fun but this summer I think I want twins just for the cool factor . I'll be going with the s356's

I had twin turbonetics 6165's with .68 ar on my L92, and it spooled very fast and made over 600 whp on 9 #'s iirc. It needed a larger a/r housing imo. I then switched to a BW S480.
