Whats up with that"clipped looking" exhaust wheel? Is there a reason it looks like a ceiling fan as opposed to the usual turbine style generally found in turbos? Does that design flow more?

Compared to the usual 110+mm wheels on the GT50 or GT55's it looks quite a bit different.

I bet it flows more. Don't think it does as much work though.

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but the comments about this turbine being junk are 100% accurate. I personally have a COMP CT5X Billet 82mm turbo with comp's upgraded 100mm turbine, which is strait veined similar to the photos shown here. The turbo is technically rated to 1400 hp by comp. I maxed mine out at 853 rwhp on 20#. I made 800 rwhp on 14# then it only made 853 on 20#. Technically what I have is slightly different that the turbo's advertised here, but the turbine looks the same and was out of steam super early. Not trying to bash Huron's product, if they can post dyno results that differ from mine more power to them. I would avoid COMP turbo's at all cost for multiple reasons. Their customer service is terrible as well, I called to try and discuss my issues with the and the guy answering the phone is also their "technical" person and he is a complete idiot. I'd much rather have a forced inductions unit (which they also sell) with the standard PROVEN 96mm turbine, or even better then 100mm turbine. I actually plan on selling my current turbo and buying an S491/100 from Huron because their pricing on them is great.

That's absolutely ridiculous, that's EXTREMELY weak for a turbo of that size. Not downing your numbers, but I AM downing the product.

I agree, turbo doesn't make **** for power as you raise boost. It didn't gain hp over a 76mm Borg with 88/96 turbine. I also agree the Borg 100mm turbine works better, we use it on a 5.3L and it traps faster then the COMP in a heavier car.

Couldn't agree more. What was an even bigger kick to the nuts was calling COMP to try and work through the issue and talking to a completely ignorant douche. Throwing out things that "could be" the issue that were completely wrong and would have just cost me more money. Avoid COMP turbo's like the plague. They will not make anywhere near the power they are rated for / their competitors make. Sad part is my turbo is actually a very nice piece - Triple ball hearing, billet backing plate, light weight, compact design, etc. Their turbine is just absolute **** and customer service is terrible as well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one used on the cheap if you're just looking for a fun street car, but prepare to be massively disappointed when you go to the dyno with one. My set up should have made 1000 rwhp with ease and I was feeling great when it made 800 at 14#. But that was basically the limit of the turbo which for a billet 82mm compressor with a 100mm turbine is asinine and ridiculous.
