AEM 380 reliability vs Bosch 044?
Currently in the middle of a build and starting to think that my Bosch 044 may not be enough or on the limit of my goal of ~700rwhp on pump gas. Should a single AEM 380 pump be good enough for that power level? How is their reliability/track record like?

AEM is not an OEM manufacturer, they will never match Bosch for reliability. Two completely different ball games here. A Bosch pump is designed to work flawlessly for 10 solid years - but do you really need something that lasts that long anyways?
I can tell you right now, I’ve never even owned a car for long enough to see my new fuel pump die of old age - longest I’ve ever owned a car was 7 years - how about you? Your build will probably change before the pump goes bad or you won’t even own the car anymore, so don’t even worry about “reliability” because it doesn’t matter, just worry about quality.

044 has been around for 30-40 years.
AEM has not...nowhere near it. So AEM will have a long way to go to prove reliability against probably the most reliable "performance" type pump available
As for better performance ? Are there any independent tests on them yet ?
they were originally 380...now they seem to claim 400lph.
Although equally, there are cheaper almost identical looking Chinese pumps claiming the same.....for cheaper.

I added an upgraded in tank pump to feed a surge tank, and have 2 x 044 pumps supply from there to the motor. 2 x 044 pumps are plenty for most street setups and I've had no issues with them over a few years use and sustained use in several events.

when i got mine, i couldn't find any definitive info on what made it a 380 or 400.... same part number, must be magic.

the 380/400 is a little stronger than the 044 I have ran both without issue yes both will go 700 hp on gas. I am adding a second 380 to my nova this week as a single aem 400 ran out at 705 hp to the wheels on e85. 14 psi boost. with my blue nova I ran as fast as 9.90 at 135 mph on a single 380 on e85.

Bosch only rate the 044 at 180LPH, but in reality they do around 300, give or take.
Not a hope of a singe 044 feeding 1000hp though, even if it was a low pressure carb setup. Unless it's a fairy dust dyno

Although I don't see anywhere on AEM's page for the pumps saying they're US made ?
And it is handy they do it with metric fitments, same as the 044 to make it an easy direct replacement.
