Get a sexy set of 15s for the strip, (maybe even a biasply setup depending on what suspension you have under the car)
WHILE getting the 325s for your street wheels too!
Edit: I constantly roll around on my biasply 15s, though down the road I would like to get a nice street set something like 17s

Ok, wheels are 5 spoke silver firebird wheels that look a hell of a lot better than snowflakes. Front tires are 215/60/16 Falken tires with MAYBE 1000 miles on them and the rears are 295/50/15 MT drag radials with probably 3/4 of the tread left. $400 for everything plus actual shipping. The rear tires alone are like 250 each normally.

275/60-15 ET pro or the new ET-R. You need a serious tire to launch on a tbrake dont even waste your time with a 17 drag radial you will be disappointed and whatever you buy make sure they are atleast a 28" tall tire. The width of the tire doesn't mean a whole lot there are guys going unreal fast on 235s.

The fast guys on the 235s have awesome power management syems/skills and suspensions to lay down the numbers they do. IMO you have to compare apples to apples. Too often you hear "those tires suck" or "the track's garbage" when no one else is having problems. Is it the tire or is the car not set up properly? "My car won't hook on a 235!" It might if it was setup for it. Props to the guys doing it on the shorter tires. IMO a tire with more sidewall and some good shocks would go a long way and avoid some aggravation. I see the point of a car looking a certain way, but it can makes it difficult to get it to perform. My vote, good shocks/struts and a tall (28") rear tire, but that's just me. Good luck with whatever you choose. Hope it works out for you.
