That makes more sense now. My old setup was post rail (aftermarket rails) with the 2nd in capped off and the return ran back to the tank on the stock supply line as the feed was 8AN/.5" hard line. Has anyone ever tried using an adjustable FPR but deadheading it with no return back to the tank?

Pressure can't be controlled without a return. Even in returnless setups, the regulator inside of the tank has a bleeder that returns fuel back into the tank to control pressure.

With the inlet of the rail being -6 (close enough) I don't know what a larger -8 supply to the rail would really accomplish. That's what I run, just not sure it's doing anything over a -6.

I'm saying if the rest of your fuel system is up to par and the rail inlet is your only restriction (hence the reason for tapping into the -4 AN fitting to dual feed in the first place), then you should be able to split a single -8 AN line coming off of the regulator into both rail ports and still not worry about your lines being a restriction.

That is exactly what threw me off. I know someone who is putting a FPR on his deadheaded rails without adding a return and the vendor told him that was okay. He made it sound like it would keep the OUT pressure constant by providing a restriction at the IN and slow the pump down but Im guessing thats not possible lol.
