Boosted e85 guys. I need good injectors that don't break the bank!

So race fuel is expensive so I'm thinking about going e85, but don't want to shell out $600+ for injectors. I have ran 10.3@141 with 60lb injectors on race fuel with 98% duty cycle. They say e85 requires 30% fuel. So that would mean I could possibly get away with 80lb injectors, but I'd rather go a bit bigger to 90-95lb injectors.

I have dual walbro 255's. I have seen guys running faster times then mine with with these pumps on e85 with stock lines and rails so I'm planning to only change out the injectors.

So looking for an injector in the 90-110 range that isn't crazy expensive and works well.

Can you link to those please? I'm not seeing them on the WS6store website.

And what is the EV14 connector used on? Are there adaptors to use them with an EV1 style harness?

tech@WS6store 04-29-2017 10:20 PM

Theyll be added prob monday. Got lots of products to add.
Ev14 is used on ls2 harnesses and ls3, ls7, and 05+ truck.
Ev1 is ls1 style.
Ill link you when we get em added! They are ls1 height also.

We have ev14 to ev1 and ev1 to ev14 connectors available.

Excellent, didn't know that stuff existed.

sweet99ss 04-29-2017 10:35 PM

That's awesome, please send a link as soon as they are up! Been buying parts from you guys for a long time!

I know the internet saying is 30%. It's actually a lot more than that. It's really close to 50% more. I'm on megasquirt and we run a required fuel number. When I was on e10 gas I was a 2.0 reqfuel. Switch to e85 and to maintain 100% ego correction I had to run a Reqfuel of 3.5, or 50% more fuel

And if you do the math 14.7/9.8 versus 9.8/14.7, you'll see it takes 33% less e85 but 50% more to make the calcs correct

So them 92's would be on the limit again, maybe look at some 1000's with raised base pressue

laytoncamaroz28 04-29-2017 11:14 PM

I agree with nathan^ 95lbers and 2 255s ain't gonna get you back to 141 mph. I run 142 lb Injectors and a walbro 450 and areo 340 at 50 psi base, so they can keep up, and run 100% duty cycle @ 138 mph @ 3750 lbs. it uses ALOT of fuel. Granted our fuel here tests 88-90%. I had FIC 1000s and a 400 and 340 Maxed out @ 131 mph before.

Running a boost ref fpr would help for a smaller inj also. There are many ways to tune e85 setups. Having a proper fuel setup will help. using stock lines cuts back on the actual volume if fuel needed so you can get by with a smaller overall pump. Using stock lines a single 255 can cover 600hp at the wheels on reg gas. Using billet rails and larger lines it wont. The extra volume needed to make the pressure takes away from its ability to support the power.
Spending a grand on ID1ks+ seems like everyones go to, and we sell them, but honestly do what you want. Sometimes you dont have to follow everyone elses recipe to get to the finish line. More than one way to skin a cat as they say.

the bosch 210s for approx 480-550 dollars are a no brainer

Where are these at

69-chvl 04-30-2017 06:46 AM

If you can run low-imp injectors Holley has 120lb for ~$430.00

oscs 04-30-2017 10:45 AM

Low impedance racetronix flow matched 160lbs injectors are $550. I've run them on two big power cars and they are awesome.

sweet99ss 04-30-2017 12:21 PM

I have stock ECU so I don't think I can use low impedance or I would go with those...

Nathaninwa 04-30-2017 12:26 PM

How much fueling can stock pull out? The Bosch 210's would be a great injector, there is also a guy in the forsale section selling some fuel injector connection 1000's for around 500

ls3fox 04-30-2017 12:27 PM

the 210s are high impedance

Cwarta 04-30-2017 04:08 PM

Deka 80# (92# on 58psi) are only $330 online. I've got two sets of them. Work great

sweet99ss 04-30-2017 05:24 PM

But sounds like the deka 80's won't be enough going by laytons results.

Has anybody maxed out a set of deka 80's with twin 255's and base 58psi fp on e85?

Nitroused383 04-30-2017 05:43 PM

To max out the 80s on dual 255s you want your final pressure to = about 60 psi. So take 60 psi - boost (say 20 for example) = 40 PSI base pressure. Deka 80lbs will flow 445 L/HR @ 60 psi and dual walbros support 455 L/HR @ 60 psi. This would maximize your setup. 445 L/HR should support roughly 720 rwhp on e85.

yenkomike 05-01-2017 05:46 AM

with a good 1 to 1 rising regulator the deka 80s will get you there . my friend wills Camaro runs 9.40s at 141 mph on e85 with 80s @3550 lb weight. eliminator black -4 pump ,-8 line and holley 12-846 reg. 99% dc at 20.3 psi . 55 psi base.

I run them as well and my d/c is higher but I'm running a stock truck regulator and 55 psi base. it has got me to 9.90 at 137 mph with a single aem 380 pump. at 3600 lb race weight.
