Fan for cold air intake Alright guys I know that this may be a silly idea and I may get toasted for it, but here goes. Like everyone else, I have run out of room under my hood and can't seem to get my air filter as far away from my turbo as I would like. I have it mounted up high and tight against the radiator core support and the passenger's side fender. I am going to build a heat shield to put around it, but there is still no good way for me to get fresh air to it. My idea is this, cut a 5" hole in my radiator core support and mount a small fan like this 5", 200cfm in that hole blowing straight at the air filter in hopes of getting some of the heat away from the intake. Would there be a benefit to this or would I do just as well just to cut the hole in the support and forget the fan. Thanks for the help |
That fan will do little to nothing. You'd be better off just making some nice ducting to get air in. |
air filter on a turbo? blasphemy |
200 cfm fan vs 1000 cfm turbo? Just do the ducting |
