Default VSRacing T4 1.25ar 80mm Billet 96x88

Just saw where this turbo will be available at the end of this month through VSRacing. Who's going to be the first to give this turbo a shot? I bet this thing would work really well bolted up to the Huron Speed new V3 turbo kit.

I'm considering it, I cannot find it on the website, only the t6 version. Do you have a link?

Their website says they will be available by the end of the month, but who knows how accurate that is. I wish the price point was more in the $800.00 range, but I bet this turbo is worth it for those guys looking to stay with a T4 flange.

We are going to try to work out a T4 Borg Warner "connection kit" so no modifications on the buyers end are required for these and the V3 T4 kits. Not in progress yet but in the plans, keep posted!

Yah, seems a little steep. For the same money I'd go used Borg. At least I'd have piece of mind as far as reliability and serviceability.

Figure 200ish for the housing plus machining and markup. Seems about right. T4 housings are usually a $200 option without machining form other vendors.

I’ve had both and I’d never run a T4 with an auto/LS combo. Even a mild 4.8 spools a 1.32 T6 S480 plenty quick if setup properly. (no trans brake even) Suppose I could see it on a manual build… With a little effort you can weld a 4 Vband on the T6 and it's not much harder to package. I was launching at 8lbs with no 2 step or trans brake, and ramping up to 20lbs faster than my tires would handle. Had to dumb it down to hook a 30" MT drag radial with 3.25 gears... And that's with a 1.80 glide.

define setup properly...because my 4.8 s480 1.32 spools like ****. Maybe i need a retune since my setup used to be a t4 on3 78mm

Tune needs to be spot on, right converter, decent compression, smallish diameter tubing on the hot-side, Intercooler with very little pressure drop. Cam/intake/head combo that makes decent power at stall RPM. Decent rear brakes or a trans brake helps a ton.

Is that going to bolt up without having to make any modifications?

I paid less for my Billet S480 with a 87mm T4 from Apex, and the 87mm wheel would add cost over the 96 offered by VS.

On a 4.8 it seems to run about the same as my “real” billet S476 T4 did. (had the large wheel and 1.25 T4). Bit more lag for sure but I had a different converter then so no direct comparison. Went 156 on 24ish lbs.

Good to hear. 156 mph is strollin ! I know i would be better off with a t6 turbine housing with the cubes , but the way my piping and frontend stiffening bars are laid out, i just dont have room. I dont suspect i will choke up too bad though with my low boost goals. Plan to shift it around 6500 or a little less.
