Turbo downpipe + Mufflex Catback ?

2 Attachment(s)
Anyone have a turbo car that still has a catback using the Mufflex setup?

Here is a picture of my current setup with Corsa but thinking about switching to Mufflex setup.

Huron Speed V2 kit, downpipe to custom intermediate pipe, to Corsa.

Yeah that seems to be what everyone is doing. My neighbors felt differently though.

Got an On3 kit with a 4" mufflex and magnaflow muff. Quiet as hell going down the highway.

Looks clean man! I like the street car exhaust. I had a fender exhaust on my fox and hated it for street duty. Built this exhaust for my Huron v1 and absolutely love it

I run a 4" single with 2 in line bullets out the back like a Mufflex system. I love the sound, it's deep and mellow until you get into boost...then it gets kinda obnoxious.

bluestreak98 06-27-2017 08:59 AM

Anyone have any sound clips?

Hear any turbo whistle at idle?

sbcgenII 06-27-2017 11:02 AM

I dont here anything turbo related until i make boost. Nobody is interested in racing me until i make some boost next to them.

I miss my full exhaust.

Well, I might have not given the Corsa setup enough credit. Through full exhaust, 18.5lbs, my car made 747/773 :eek2::eek2:

Maybe I'm gonna keep it!

bluestreak98 08-18-2017 11:35 AM

Anyone else have any catback sound clips off their downpipe?

Photochop 08-18-2017 12:49 PM

Corsa is a nice system, fairly quiet while cruising but still noisy when you get in it.

Have you considered a boost activated cutout? It's a valve similar to an electric cutout that's actuated via boost pressure. An excellent route to go, there's a US branded outfit selling them if you google 'loud valves' or china made ones are much cheaper on ebay.

tsench 08-19-2017 12:33 AM

take that corsa off id buy it off from you

Circling back around to this. I want to do an ovalized 3" midpipe to a 4" Mufflex setup so that I have some more ground clearance. I'm worried about the clearance over the upper PHB. Any feedback on that?

customblackbird 03-26-2019 09:43 PM

I ran a custom 4” catback with the founders PHB relocation and while it worked it didn’t fit great. Now I run a single 3” into a 3” eBay electric cutout and a 3” catback with dynamic ultra flow muffler so it looks stock. Stupid quiet with the cutout closed but makes 2psi less and hurts spool. But open the cutout and it’s a whole new animal. 4” catback not needed, throw a cutout on it and keep the current catback so u don’t loose your shit on the street or piss off the neighbors.

I've got a 4" mufflex for my TT car, still plan to use a cutout(s), but also am running a magnaflow muffler with the catback. Haven't gotten it together but hopefully will be soon.
