Help me understand my JGS wastegates
Goal is to be able to reach 20-22 psi
I have the 50mm gate and with the heavy duty spring it makes 11ish psi with the manual boost controller turned down all the way and going to the bottom port and the top port open. With it open all the way it makes 16-18
I then than it how it says on their website with a line going to both and the boost controller going to the top port. This makes 17-18 all the way down but I was told in an email by then that that's incorrect for this type of boost controller and turning the controller up won't increase boost.
What should I do? I'd like to be able to meet 20-22 psi somewhere near the top of turning my controller all the way up

Typically in that configuration you should be able to get 2x wastegate pressure. If your controller isn't great or backpressure is too high it won't make 2x the boost.

Don't manual controllers only hook up to the bottom port of the wastegate? Maybe try a higher spring in the wastegate? I'd get an electronic controller if i was you. If it still won't get to where you want it you'll probably have to run co2 or compressed air to the solenoid on top of the gate.

Blowing air into the bottom chamber will run lower boost.
Blowing air into the top chamber will run higher boost.
Where are you taking your reference signal from ?
You could try running a softer spring, and only blowing air into the top chamber. Bleeding it all of will be low boost, allowing all boost signal into it will be higher boost.
