The thread was made in the FI section.....so it would seem the OP wants boost given that he talks about spool and turbo size. And with goals of 550whp not to exceed 650-700whp, NA ain't happening until you just feel like spending extra money for a big cube motor.

I was watching Expedition Unknown and they just found a 550whp N/A ls1 eating lunch with a Yeti. Astounding to say the least! The Yeti was dining on caviar, and the LS1 had stock internals, good television for sure.

I've already done one $1000 turbo build and moved onto 2 more. One with a billet 7875 and the other with a pair of those ebay 50mm turbos. Both coming in under $1000 completed.

Both will make more power than his LS1 for a fraction of the budget, and I doubt he even has his back from the machine shop yet.

Currently sorting my valve train first, CHE trunnion upgrade and PAC 1219 springs (would needed to have done these if staying NA anyway...)
Also have ordered Mighty mouse catch can as inside of intake is oil flooded...
Next if go through with it will be injectors but not sure which ones yet...60lb...? Everything like this so dear from US though..

If stuck, I have a couple of sets I used for a few years I could sell, as I'm unlikely to ever use them again.

Have a set of the long style and short style.

They were 100% fine when I was using them up until about a year or so ago. But it would be prudent if buying to have them checked/cleaned by the likes of ASNU or similar.

But new ones arent that expensive, just make sure they're from a trusted source.

I have to say I just knocked out a budget build as well... I'm shocked how well the amazon $60 gates work, boost is on a rope!

I should get a sponsored by Amazon sticker, crazy how well this cheap stuff works:

$63 46mm wastegate (came with 6lb springs)
$43 50mm blow off valve (sounds just like a Tial)
$94 3" intercooler piping/coupler/clamp kit
$39 Turbo blanket/50' heat wrap combo

Couple that with a chang turbo and intercooler your good to go for right about that $1000 price point.

No-name Billet 7875s are 270 shipped on ebay, which is cheaper than the VS cast ones by $130. Also available in a couple turbine A/Rs. They've brought down my single turbo build prices considerably.

Intercooler kits are a little cheaper than that on ebay as well but I'm not sure if you're getting more or less. I think they are around $80.

I usually skip the turbo blankets and opt for the $90 pair of china 44s. Bad thing about ebay is the ship times can be a week long where amazon is a couple days.
