Corvettes and Holley ECU's

1 Attachment(s)
Sooooo i picked up a nice 02' C5Z for cheap and im considering going full retard. I've been reading on the vette forums about integrating it and im getting mixed responses about whether factory options can be kept. I don't care about traction control but id pretty much like to keep everything else. Anyone here have any first hand experience?

im curious to know as well.. im assuming its possible but a wiring headache piggy backing one system to another, one thing you will def have to do is bumper exit though

Piggybacking a holley onto the OEM pcm has been done quite a bit. While it's not necessarily hard, it does take patience.

I've not done it but a friend has done a couple of them. You get to keep most everything, as the Holley runs the engine, the pcm/bcm controls the car.

Have fun with your new project!

Thanks man. Is he on here? Id love to pick his brain.

I do not believe he's on here. I'll send him a text.

Certainly possible with a Dominator, but you will have some hours in wiring!

Not sure what you are looking to keep? Cruise control, A/C, ABS? I can see those being fun! haha

Its going to be a bitch i know... BUT i want to keep all of the above. The only thing im willing to sacrifice is the traction control.

fueltech told me they have a plug specifically for full integration into CTSv's and i thought vettes. They told me they have full function.

Thats all i know.

The less you integrate the ecu, the easier that will be.

So OEM ecu will still need to run the throttle and as much as possible as it did before with all wiring remaining intact. So you will end up tuning on two fronts to a certain degree both the OEM ecu and Holley.

Many sensors can be shared...2 wire sensors like air temp, coolant temp cannot be shared unless you can turn off any internal pullups within the Holley...which is probably very unlikely.
Either way, safest to run a sensor for each ecu.

Likes of crank, cam, MAP etc, 3 wire powered sensors, there should be no issue sharing the same signal with both ecus

If doing a piggyback, it can be handy to try and source a male/female connector set for the ecu, so you can actually make a patch harness to just plug in, rather than starting to cut factory wiring. Makes stuff a bit easier and neater to change, especially if you wanted to go back to the OEM stuff without leaving a mess behind.

If looking to stay at or under 1000hp I would not bother.

I'm gonna agree with this. It really isn't worth the trouble if not looking for an all out max build. If you wan't an all out max build, do what I did and rewire the car from scratch so you can keep your power windows and shit like that.

What relays did you use for your power windows?

I'll agree with these guys

Not sure what he used but these made my life much easier for wiring the power windows.

No need for a relay to make the windows work. Google "reverse polarity" and "Double Pole Double Throw Switch". Easy as pie.

lol I did, but my switch panel had already arrived with a labeled rocker switch so I had to make it work.

You can have traction control setup through the Holley. I run it on my dominator. The only reason I'd piggyback a factory harness would be to try to get through emissions. Pain in the ass and that's why I didn't do it on my wife's 01ss. Holley can see about anything you want it to see and control. Dominator has tons of input outputs. So if you want to keep a/c no problem Holley can adjust for a/c.

I don't want to get too far off track here, but aren't the door releases electronic on these newer vettes? It's little things like that, that make me wonder...
