After seeing a guy on YB make 960whp with a pair of On3 61/65s, those sounds pretty enticing for the price point and would drop right into my car.

when you say 61/65s what is the 65 referring to ? i'm new trying to learn so bear with me I know the 61 is 61mm is 65 the ar?

Thanks Phluxx

bad wheel design just making heat?
I'll look into it when i remove mine. The wheel designs looked good to me. Id guess the clearances on the housing vs blades arent up to snuff. I could live with the performance. The bearing failure is whats ticking me off. Shouldnt be failing and burning oil so quickly.

Finally going to the track this weekend. The last two times I have tried to go it was rained out.

Weighed the car today. Full tank of fuel with me in it is 3325lbs. A hair more than I expected. Should be able to get a good amount of weight out of it over the winter.

Had a pretty good day at the track. I was able to get several personal bests. The car went 9.25, 9.19 9.03 and then 8.95 with mph between 149-152.5. Managed to cut a 1.34 60' too. On the 8.95 pass boost was in the 26psi range and 15.5* at peak, launch at 4100rpm and 8.5psi. Surprisingly the turbos made 25psi before I hit the 60' mark.

On the 8.95 pass it made 25psi 1.2 seconds into the run. That is pretty good I think.

So I have dumb questions... Despite this being a really great result to me, svslo, I think to a lot of you guys it isn't a great result for this boost level. Right? So are you still not liking the turbos?

Using the Wallace Racing online calculator, this best run result puts you right at or a little over 900hp. If that is accurate at all, then these turbos do seem to be under-performing like mad, don't they? As in, 450hp from a 72mm compressor wheel at 26psi and 15.5* of timing seems really weak...

Am I understanding this correctly, or is there something I'm missing? And I want to reiterate that I'd be happy as hell with a result like that. To me your car is nothing short of a rocket!

No you are right. The boost numbers are pretty high. But this is also an 8.8:1 CR 4.8 in a car that weighs 3300lbs. So its gonna take a little bit of boost to get it moving. It doesn't make much power NA. If I an L33 or something in the car it would probably run these numbers at closer to 20psi.

Nothing to be ashamed of with your cars performance. It ran 8's. Hell of a lot more than most of us can say! Congrats!

It always amazes me as to how some totally different cars, can run almost identical passes.

That slip is almost identical to a friends Subaru ! Less than 0.75mph difference everywhere and about 0.05s at each stat.

Great result.

900 hp is probably accurate. Those engines only make 270 flywheel horsepower. The ls1 intake makes less power than the truck intake used for its hp rating. So really the only thing adding power is his turbo cam. So it's probably accurate to say it makes 300ish hp na. 28psi is 1.4 psi from triping hp. According to my calculations to make 900hp at 28psi means the car makes 310hp na. So ya I'd say it's a pretty decent hp rating for its boost level.

Those of you that are interested in the math.

310na at 14.7 that would be 620hp.
Now we take our 28psi and subtract the 14.7 psi leaving us with 13.3 psi
13.3psi is 90% of 14.7. So we take 90% of our 310na hp which gives us 280hp
So we take our 620hp @ 14.7 add in our 280hp from our additional 13.3 psi and we end up with 900hp

Yeah I don't think the power is too far off at this point.
