Default “No prep” drag radial guys- what tire?

Trying to figure out what the best tire is for my car in a no prep situation

Right now the car is on a 275 mt et street r, and they are killer on a prepped track, but on a low to no prep surface, they don’t take the hit well at all.

So I’m torn between the MT pro bracket radial and the Hoosier dot radial.

I had the Hoosier when my car was on spray and they worked great but people are saying the pro bracket is better.

MT says the pro bracket is the same side wall as the street R with a harder compound, so idk

Anyone here have experience with all 3 tires?

3600lb irs turbo car, th400 and Around 1000whp

I'm running the 275 mt pro in a 4200 2000 ta, I cut 1.27s on a prepped track and high 1.3s on a skating rink.

Personally I wouldn't do no prep stuff with a drag radial. At your weight I would use a stiff wall slick. No prep and radials=bad things.

Also subbed, I would like to street drive on a radial and switch to a 29x10.50 for racing, but then I would have to change front and rears and that's what's stopping me

The Pro Bracket Radial is better for no prep as it has a softer sidewall. I think it will take a bit of spin and recover better also. Dave has a set for sale in his trailer also, never used.

Everyone around here uses the ET Pro. After a round there's enough prep down to hook anything anyway. No one around here has any issues running at the No Prep events and these are consistent low 5 second cars.

I wouldn't say there is enough for us after a round even with a weak 4.20 tuneup we have trouble on the big tire down track.

I was under the impression that a bias ply tire is the best choice for no prep situations. Is that true?

4.20! Good Lord, that's my reaction time!

Subbed, curious what tire is a good all around tire. My ET streets aren't worth a **** on PA's blacktop roads from a stop.

When i said "no prep", i meant street but didnt wanna offend any of the internet tools that dont brake any traffic laws and are gonna tell me its illegal.

My et street Rs do pretty well at an actual no prep event, but on the street they dont do anything from a dig. On a roll in, they work awesome.
