biggest affordable twin turbo intercooler?
Moving my stuff over to a new chassis and im wondering what my options are for a big air to air for a set of twins.
Last car had the biggest treadstone cooler (1300hp TTRC cooler) and i would regularly see 180f inlet temps. The cooler was covered pretty good in the last car with the oem bumper so im sure that had some effect, but im looking to go a bit faster in the new car and have concerns about using it again.
Im thinking either a massive single cooler by some company i dont know about.
Or 2 smaller coolers, 1 for each turbskies.
or run another treadstone with proper exposure.
New car is a 66 nova, forgred 6.0l, twin 366's. Looking for bottom 8s.
Last car was a 3600lb irs BMW, same setup and went bottom 9's, high 8's (5.83 at 126)

Im making a giant air to air setup for a 65 Nova right now. Using 2x Vibrant cores together 18x12x6" each. 427 S482s Weld Monster Fabricatoin on FB if you want to see progress. Sucker is about 70lbs. Id go with a 4.5" core possibly on a revised version lol. Garrett if in the budget Vibrant or CSF if not.
Budget aside Shearer makes a few killer dual core options if you want one made.

I had the big Treadstone you had in my Camaro with a 6.0 and twin 66's. On 13psi inlets didn't go over 100 on a hot day. Turned it up to 20 psi and saw around 160, both at the track on multiple passes a day. A couple of my buddies run/ran A2W with no issues on the street, (one being the guy above I got from him). I for one maybe roll into the throttle hard for a couple of seconds 1-2 times just playing around though. I doubt you are going to get cost/quality better than the Treadstone was unless you spend more money.

Who says a/w intercoolers aren't for the street? It even has a/c This is my '69 Chevelle project with Precision GTS76 and alum 5.3/T56 Mag/9".
5gallon water tank in the trunk and huge HX up front.
That being said I run a 3.5" thick Treadstone A/A in my 88mm turbo LS9 and it easily went 160mph+ in the 1/4 and was one of the fastest carts in the 1/2 mile. We are running e85 though. In the 1/4 the IAT's are ok... in the 1/2 they are really going up.

Ford Truck Diesel Intercooler
Hi All, my last purchase of an aftercooler was from a Ford Dealership.
This intercooler is commonly found on their truck line with my cost of $219.00.
The size is that of the radiator with 3" in/out tubes.
As for the "core", when too thick, the efficiency drops.

I guess they're all affordable when no budget is mentioned ?
Cheapest upgrade ?
Cut up your Treadstone's and weld in new Garrett cores....as big as you can fit.

Garrett is the only way to go.
I am running the Garrett #701596-6001 core. 27.8"W, 12.7"H, 5.1"D.
8.22@166: IAT: 79-119 degrees. 40 degree rise. 30.3psi max.
8.99@169: IAT: 90-126 degrees. 36 degree rise. 28.9psi max.
8.30@165: IAT: 88-135 degrees. 47 degree rise. 31.7psi max.
8.34@166: IAT: 95-129 degrees. 34 degree rise. 29.6psi max.
All runs were over 3600lbs raceweight (moving a lot of weight). The IATs are pretty damn impressive based on that and A2A.
