What part number for HKS BOV ?

I decided I'm gonna purchase the HKS BOV from Ebay . I got a couple of questions though;

1) What is the part number that you guys run for the ATI or are all the HKS
BOVs all the same ?

2) What is a good price to pay for them ?

3) Are these better than the ATI race BOV ?

Sorry for being such a noob :secret:

I might be able to help you out,

They are pretty much universal, it's the flange they come with that is different. The flange depends on how you are going to hook it up, where do you plan?

159-210 depending on condition

probably not.

I have one on my formula, if you would like a sound clip let me know and I will PM you one. Pic is in the attachment below where mine is.

The HKS sounds nice, but way to many Supra's are running them. To me the Tial sounds even better and costs the same. The part # though for the HKS is 1421-SA001 .

The HKS is a uneversal unit but you can order different flanges for it. If you want to run it similar to your stock ATI bov, order a Mitusbishi EVO flange with it. The ATI outlet is 1.5", I think, and the EVO outlet it 1.25". It will work, just crank down on the hose clamp and put a couple of wraps of electrical tape on the flange.

Thanks for the help guys :D

frcefed98, I'm not sure where I will put it yet since I have yet to install my "dust collecting ATI"

A sound clip would be really cool .... I appreciate it

i used to have the hks ssqv and it was great/everybody loved it.. and it did its job well too.

you'll need an aluminum flange if you want to mount it to aluminum and v/v i made my own flange/clamp.

I have a mount similar to this one, instead of the 1 inch hose outlet on it I had a 1.5inch aluminum piece of pipe tig'ed on mine to make it a direct fit to the driver side bypass port. Hooking it together with a piece of reinforced silicone hose.

I got mine from KTR Performance for 25 bucks tho,
email and PM sent to those that wanted the sound clip

I don't know much...why change the BOV?

2000silverbullet 07-04-2004 03:16 PM

I think thats a great question! Why would you change the BOV from ATI?
How does the HKS BOV work? Do you have to adjust anything to make it work or do you just attach vacuum line and flange and that's it? I'm  sorry....

Anyone know the difference between the SSQV and the HKS Racing Type II Blow Off valve. Part number 1421-RA001 ?

blu00rdstr 07-25-2004 02:48 AM

I'm looking to swap from HKS SSQV to Vortech Mondo BOV or similar (ATI Race BOV, Tial, etc).

See the two bolt flange I put a pic up of.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/196298-hks-bov-ati-p-1sc-install-question.html

That is what it bolts to.. I thought he had the type II.

The type II can vent more volume of air.... Higher boost engines...

On the DSM side those who were around before certain movies call HKS HK$...

They were selling a modified denso fuel pump with the denso part # shaved off which only kept up with a factory (also a denso) supra TT pump for $400 and up.... You can get a supra pump for like $200 from a toyota dealer...

Basically they are allright products.. Nothing was spectacular except high prices.. Cams are hard to get sometimes and Comp is cheaper (+better) and now has more grinds... etc...

A greddy Type R or S will beat it. S=street r= race just like a different valve size in the same cyinder head. A tial bov is the best..

Unless you are running in the 25psi range or something it does'nt matter..

Try a turbosmart.. http://www.turbosmart.com.au/bov_multi.htm

http://www.turbosmart.com.au/images/...-bov-003vp.jpg

http://www.turbosmart.com.au/images/...-bov-003ms.jpg

http://www.turbosmart.com.au/images/...adaptors01.jpg

They have no nonsense multi-fit Adapters and some good valves.. You can get a hose barb type fitting in nearly any size and it will screw together. They also have 3 different valves designed to be louder for those who care about that.... You can get one with the right size adapter to just clamp in place.. IMHO just get the Vee port... It is your car so do what you want.

Their loudest ones sound like

A good adjustble BOV with enough flow for the residual pressure in the intake piping is the only thing I look for.. One reason I tired of the sport compact scene were the "dual note D12 slim shady autographed JDM style BOVs" (exageration)... There is just too much BS... It's just a pneumatic piston which holds a door shut untill the throttle plate closes... then it lets it get pushed open...

I know what I'm running with twins at 25psi... A 1000 hp at 30psi 4cyl (I did say 1000) does well with one tial. Its only $10 more than the HK$ but it is actually worth its price unlike the HK$.

Read what it says about the HK$ $$QV.... Not nice and nice ryhmes with another word...
