I changed my mind again, I came across the AEM fail safe wideband, I think I'm going to try that and wire it up to the IAT and pull a bunch of timing if needed. Evidently it works both to stop a lean condition or an over boost condition

Iat takes to long to react so unfortunately it will probably be to slow to save you from any sort of lean condition. You could however wire it to your boost controller to drop the boost.

My control doesn't have that feature i don't believe. The only thing I can think of is wire it up to the launch sequence button so it reverts back to launch boost, but then I gotta figure out a way to stop it from activating the trans brake at the same time. Do able, but a lot of work.

Next option would be the power side of the injectors.

How could the ait be slow? Grounding it would instantly throw it max cold or hot which should throw the timing to the corresponding tables? I haven't done it so I'm not sure. I'm not talking about using resistors like some people do

Actually the 2 step can be activated by 12v ground or 12v positive, I could hook it up so it activates the 2 step which would essentially be a rev limiter? Not sure how that would be on the engine though

The changes the pcm makes based on the info given by the iat is slow. Not the reading itself but the changes made. To test unplug your iat while running and see how long it takes to start making changes. I logged it in hptuners and it took quite a while.

What do you think about using the 2 step then? Any negative affects?

Ya I'm not sure what the effect would be either, maybe someone else can comment on that. But my assumption would be the 2 step is just pulling timing so it should be fine? Maybe lol

So I picked up a wrecked 04 tahoe for the engine, as the wife's truck needs it. I just realized that it's a flex fuel setup. Now I'm intrigued, down the road I may try and use this in the trans am

Haven't made any progress lately, been changing engines in my wife's Avalanche since the 120k decided to split a cylinder, and then her Grand Prix **** a fuel pump. ***** pissing me off. But they are done now and I'll be back on the car soon.

My decision ended up single disk ptc, no cam. Wally 450 with some trickery in the back of the car to make it work. Then I'm getting the aem fail safe wideband and aem fuel pressure guage with alarms

I'm not real happy with the down pipes, just to tight in there and a pain I remove. So I just bought a bmr turbo k member to fix that, and my aem fail safe wideband.

coming back to this. I was browsing aems instructions and it actually lists a 2 step as a failsafe recommendation

Do yourself a favor and step bit out the rear holes in that K. It is off more than the holes allow

Well some more exhaust parts came in, and my wideband. I blew in the boost port of it and the pressure bleeds off, both pressure and vaccuume. Pretty sure it shouldn’t do that. So that’s nice. Also found out my k member is back ordered. So that’s great. Wish I would have know that before I bought it.

Oh wow I like that! I’m actually adding fuel pressure and maybe trans temp so I got a pod, even though I’m not a fan

That is disappointing. Im just surprised how much a kmemer is now. I bought my first bmr kmember new for 330 shipped. 700 now is on the ridiculous side. No way to knotch the existing stock kmember?
