For the front I run Landum springs purchased through Santhuff, they are either 180 or 200lb, can't remember, but they are 18" long. They've setup a lot of cars, so they were able to get me what I wanted. The rear springs are strange, I can't remember if I have 10" or 12" springs currently in the car, I have two sets, and they are around 200lb springs. If you look at the TRZ housing, you can see on their coil spring pad, it's adjustable about 2", a really nice option to fine tune the height. You might be able to buy a set from them and swap out the stockers on your rear. Front and rear shocks are AFCO DA's for Chevelle.

I couldn't remember exactly how I mounted the screen, so I went out and took this. I took some aluminum tube from the hardware store and welded a small alum plate and just used some double sided tape.

275/60-15 MT DR Pro on the rear.

Nice write up Corey. It’s looking good!
Not that you needed it, but it should make more power.
Interesting trans. That should be a more favorable starting line ratio.

BTW, who was that scmuck with the 5.3 Nova anyway? Ha!

I fabricate for a living and I must say, that is some pretty solid work there sir, the sectioned tubing to the intake is nice, if you ever need any flat parts cut, I have CNC waterjet, hit me up.

Cheers,

Mike.

Thanks for all the kind feedback, I'll make updates as I get time to work on it, which will now be limited to the weekends. I hope to have it fired up in another 3-4 weeks as the trans is the pacing item now. Converter shipped on Monday, so that was good news.

Video links also fixed on first page.

Nice build!
Are you gonna be supporting the turbos with brackets?

Thanks for the kind words.

Progress has been a bit slow, building the exhaust has kicked my butt, I don't have a lift.

I have both sides welded up now, and I'm really liking the fit. I just have to weld up one muffler and do the downturns. I purchased some cool spintech transitions to help with ground clearance under the crossmember. Only 2.9" thick in the flat area, so down from 3.5", that's a big help. To keep the volume from reducing, the width at the flat area is about 3.8" wide. Overall I'm excited to have 3.5" exhaust under the car.

Manual steering box put back in the car, and the trans showed up this week.

Injectors ordered today, that's the last piece. My goal is to put it on the dyno for tuning either March 23 or 24th.

As for supporting the turbos, it is a concern since it's currently not done. I don't have a motor plate, which can be an issue if you hard mount turbos. I am going to try an old school method and anchor the drivers side, so maybe I could get some support off the frame to the turbos.

Trans goes in next week, fab up the radiator lines, wrap the downpipes, bunch of other miscellaneous items that will eat up time.

Are you running a Holley EFI system? Sweet car by the way, One of my favorites, I have always wanted a 66-67 Chevelle or preferably a 66-67 GTO/Tempest.

Really digging this build, makes me want to upgrade my Twin Precision 6266's already, yet I'm building a driver that I'm hoping makes it into the 8's with a 388, you mention needing to upgrade your Rotating Assembly, what are you currently using, I have the Callies Dragon Slayer Crank and Ultra H Beam Rods with custom coated Diamond 4.125 pistons I'm hoping with turn some RPM and make 1K to the wheels or better with good fuel, I'm running a 4L80 with a Fab9... you have a very clean Chevelle! looking forward to learning more tips

Hi,
Thanks. Yes, the Dominator system. So far it's been good for me, and easy to use.

I agree, hard to go wrong with 66/67 Chevelle's and GTO's.

Thanks,
I'm similar, I have the same crank and rods now, and CP pistons. I was thinking about the Ultra billet crank and something like the Callies Ultra-I beam or Ultra XD. The Weisco boostline rods also looks promising. It's a big upgrade, but it's good insurance for what I want. My power limitation is going to be on what the fuel system will support, so what ever a 220lb injector will get me is where I'll end up.

A 388 is one of the best combos, at least thats what I keep reading, I wish I would have gone that route after much further reading.

What car do you have the combo in? What rear gear in the Fab9? I'm just wondering how much you could struggle with a 2.75 first gear in the trans. Those 6266's will light off quick, so managing power at the hit is the fun part That was my experience last year with a 2.48 first gear, but I would also say I don't have the suspension dialed in yet either. I was pulling anywhere from 12-16 degrees of timing by .5 seconds and bringing it back in by 1.5

The reason I asked is because I also use the Holley Dominator and HP, I was wondering if you considered controlling your Davies pump with the Holley PWM feature? I control my fans with it using the corvette/fusion pwm module ($25 at a local salvage yard) and it should also be able to control your pump. It's easy to program and setup would be similar to the fan setup. Edit: Looking at the specs for the pump it probably won't work. I initially thought it was controlled by PWM but it's variable voltage.
Still works great for some fans though lol.
