Default G-Body Forged 5.3-S485 A/A-Holley Race intake

Old combo was fun but recently sold my turbo nova so the Malibu is getting a complete drivetrain makeover. Sold the Gen3 5.3 that went easy 9’s with a 72mm and decided to pocket a little cash for the new build rather than throw a rod on a good running motor! Also sold my 17” Wheel set up and old KB Racing log manifold kit.

Motor Combination

Gen IV 5.3 Block
BTR/Wiseco 3.800” Pistons with HD .200 wall puns
Molnar 6.125 Turbo Rods
799’s un-ported with upgraded stainless valves
10:1 Comp
BTR Stage 3 230/235 114+2 camshaft
BTR .660 Springs
Ls9 Head gaskets
ARP Head/main studs
Meilling oil pump
Stock rockers with smith trunion kit
ATI F-Body balancer
Holley Race series sniper manifold
Holley 95mm TB

Transmission

TH-400
Stock gearing
All the internal upgrades you can think of
Circle D 252mm
TCI Flexplate

Turbo kit

Hooker Turbo manifolds
Hooker Th400 crossover
VSracing 60mm wastegate
JGS 50mm BOV
Forced Inductions S485 96mm turbine 1.32 AR T6
Treadstone TRV259 1300HP core
4” aluminum downpipe with V-Band cutout then Y’d to a single 3” aluminum exhaust all the way over the axle with a Jones Maxflow muffler all V-band for easy removal. Want a really quiet exhaust for street duty

Engine management/Fuel system

Holley EFI HP
Boost controlled by Holley
Bump box by Holley
Racepak with Holley EFI interface
Holley 160’s
Magnafuel 4303
Twin nozzle meth kit
Car will be ran on E85

Turbo kit and motor are being built right now, motor should be ready this weekend and turbo kit hopefully sometime next week. After I pick the car up it’s going straight to chassis Shop for a nice 8pt cage that will be painted to match my interior panels so we can hide it as best as possible! Really hope we can get this thing done for TX2K but I will not rush or cut corners because of a single event.

Goal with the car is to do some no prep/grudge racing and drive the car as much as possible on the street!!

F body fans and be cool radiator, can’t remrmber part number but it’s 33x19.
Going to upgrade fans soon with a nice alumin fan shroud, these fans definitely look out of place in my engine bay

Love those funky colors on malibu’s (No offense). Should be a fast car. I was talking to my buddy about an aluminum down pipe and he thinks it will melt. But I’ve been seeing a bunch of people do it lately, let me know how you make out

None taken! It’s definitely a color you can’t just throw on any car and it would look good, these square cars look nice with light green/blues/yellows!

Yea I have seen it as well, the whole exhaust will be aluminum but I’m sure the first few inches of the downpipe will be what I will need to look out for, although my fabricator didn’t seem to have any issue with doing aluminum so we will see.

Very nice car. You in the Houston area? I swear I’ve seen this car.

As for fans, I’d recommend Ford Escape duals. I’ve done lots of cfm testing and they are by far the best. Find the ones with the controller and pwm drive them with the Holley. If you need assistance on setup, I’d be happy to help.

Engine is home, got some progress pictures on my turbo kit. We are having to get creative on attaching the wastegate to the downpipe since the wastegate outlet flange is stainless v band and the downpipe is aluminum. I went into the build wanting the car to be very quiet on the street so a dumped gate would just throw that out the window.

I would love to get this thing moving under its own power by tx2k even if I can just cruise it around, cage might have to wait till after tx2k since I am waiting on my new sage green headliner that I really want to be installed in the so we can get the roll bar as close to the roof as possible.

Man I love these body style Malibu's. I would just dump the gate. It's not gonna be open that much just cruising around town anyways
