That design is very old and uncommon.
Both the Vortech Mondo I first used and the Big Red thereafter operate exactly the same as every other BOV on the market ( and you could say exactly the same as any wastegate )

WG’s are closed when at idle and cruise too though… and they don’t need a filter.
You could put a lighter spring in my 50mm Tial knockoff but would sure be hard to add a filter to it. I wouldn’t want to suck dirt in at idle and cruise is my point. As these were the BOVs’ that were being suggested.

Fake USA stamp means U Sucka Again Lol. Also wouldn't a open Bov give you tuning problems like a open IAC at idle?

My WG got stuck open shortly after I got mine going. Probably from being carboned up from running pig rich while I was still trying to get the PCM dialed in lol.

I run the $42 Tial Q 50mm speed daddy style with no complaints. VS racing sent me one like a year or so ago and the piston was offset machined in the bore and had a gap around the sealing O-ring. VS racing refunded me the money and I went with the $42 ebay one as they are the same. parts swap even with "real" Tials as well. Ive also run the wyntom brand from ebay with great success (good quality but cheap) on my builds. For my supercharger setup I ran the open air turbo style BOV that I wrapped with "green UNI" filter foam which keeps the crap out at idle and low speeds... it also helps cut down on the "street sweeper" noise. I runt he $42 speed daddy on my current turbo setup.
Honestly I feel like Tial is overpriced for there BOVs, they shouldnt cost that much and I wont pay it. I would think $100-150 max is still a large profit for them.

In an automatic car, you can get by without one (although I still have one).
In a stick, you want one. Without a BOV in a stick, ...... you built boost, now you're about to shift. take your foot off the gas while boost is still high and now, two things happen. First there is a scary pressure against the throttle blade on one side and vacuum on the other. Second there is no pressure at the turbine and lots of pressure at the compressor, so the turbo stalls. Now you have to spool it up again just in time for the next gear.

Anybody using the $100 one from RPS? 50mm and looks good. Plus it’s racepartsolutuons so you know it’s gotta be good quality. Probably order one in the next few weeks if there’s any input.
