He said its a daily driver. I'm pretty sure that should've halted all talk about an 800whp N/A Big Block. It'll be about as fun and comfortable to drive as a locomotive on the street.

Didn't catch that, as it's the 6th-7th post down. And this is new to me "daily driver grudge racer". I don't think op knows just exactly what he wants..... or knows what all is entailed.

I know exactly what I want. A daily driver that I can't take to the track. The only kind of racing I'm interested in is head to head grudge racing. I know it can't be the best of both worlds. It either a race car or street car but I want it to be at least a good competitor at the track. I was gathering posts to build a 850 hp bbc, but after taking to an older guy at the track with a 820hp Nova he let me take his car home to see if that's what I really wanted in a street car. But it was too aggressive and runs through a tank of gas like it ain't nothing. That's what got me looking into the ls platform again.

Can it be done..... yes. But the vast majority of people can't afford to do so. Just go small LS turbo and be done with it. This isn't BBC but it's close enough in Cube size.

All motor 540ci BBC is super easy to get to 800hp and way cheaper than that motor in the video. Pump gas and hydraulic roller too.

800rwhp? I only talk wheel horsepower, and is that 540 something that you will want to drive every day? Or will it be some pain in the but, idle at 1200 rpm nightmare?

I still play with BBC's pretty regularly, mainly grudge cars. You aren't getting 800rwhp cheap and dependable, not happening. I did a 468 a couple years ago for myself that made 852fwhp and it was by no means street able or cheap. I currently have a Edelbrock headed 496 in my shop that just sits. Decided a single turbo lsx for my fox coupe for the obvious reason of streetability and price. For a dependable street car, there is no comparison.

My friend has a 900hp NA 540bbc, and I don't believe even the most hardcore driver would even remotely call it a "daily driver". At that level, you start to question whether you are going to be charged for the dental fillings that shake out of the teeth of bystanders.

A Procharged big block is louder. Quite a bit.

Op was talking about a procharged big block. I had one in a street car in 1998 that made way more power than hes looking for on pump gas. As mentioned above it will be waaaaay louder than a turbo anything. A 632 na can make that hp easily and that is hardly a mountain motor these days. All that being said if it's a legit daily driver i would use a turbo ls. It will be more streetable than all the other options.

ProCharged or TT LS is the better option
