A well sorted 1000HP turbo engine could be a beat in the right package anywhere with a tune changing how it behaves 👍💯 an NA engine isn’t so lucky😎
Don't need a standalone ECU for boost by gear. Boost controller can do that.

Though it does you absolutely no good to have 1k+ lb/ft in an instant other than a glued track or a 6000lb 4wd

While this thread is old as dirt, I'm on the fence nearly every week deciding between my custom 427 block with the Harrop Hurricane and a turbo. The 427 will go into my Chevy SS Sedan DD 4000lb. with a 6L80 and not likely be tracked'. Tough call ~

AMG feels like NA in terms of response, but that wall of torque from just above idle up is moon beams beyond anything NA could do no matter what your budget. The bigger question is why would you want a turbo to drive like NA? The entire reason to have boost is to go BEYOND NA.

My bad, I didn't make myself clear. The stock engine is an LS3 415hp. I'm swapping it out for an LS7 'style' build, and I was considering using a Harrop Hurricane Intake. That config should provide 680-700-ish. Plan (b) calls for a turbo to instead. I've been was impressed with the performance of the Hurricane ever since I watched this
