5.3L LS Whipple belt slipping
Just installed a 2.3L Whipple supercharger on my 5.3L ls1. The supercharger won't get up into the boost, I was running a 5lb pulley and getting 2lb max, switched to a 8lb pulley and started getting 3lb. wide open throttle the belt just screams. adjusted the tensioner and have the smallest 6 rib belt I can possibly fit on. Anyone else have this problem?

Check out Gates' new supercharger belt line called RPM. Members on here who use them swear by them because they don't stretch like the Green Gates belt do as the belt wears in, gets hot, and stretches. RPM belts don't stretch and cause slippage.
For example: if you know the Gates number on a Green Belt it has a suffix of HD, replace HD with RPM when searching: K080525RPM would be an 8 rib. K060525RPM would be a 6 rib.

LOL - OP you definitely have something going on
Opps - sorry you already know that. That's why you posted here for suggestions to figure that out and how to correct.
Go to Whipple or Kenny Bell sites who have has a whole list of generic things to check no matter what the brand.
Did you buy this kit new or used?
The obvious things to check are belt slip, the boost actuator valve, vacuum leak, inaccurate boost gauge or line to boost gauge, or worse mechanical. So if it's not belt slip, then next I would manually test the boost actuator valve (is it new, used, or the correct valve for your application).

those things could be a factor but I know 100% the belt is slipping. The motor is swapped into a 1985 el camino and the hood wouldn't shut with the supercharger so I cut a hole out of it so it would close, I can hear the belt chirping and squealing so its for sure slipping

While you were doing this swap did you mix truck and car accessories, and thus end up with pullies out of alignment?
Like did you order stuff for a 5.3 and also a ls1? because your 5.3 would use truck accessories, and a actual aluminum LS1 would use camaro accessories.
So is your belt slipping because you mixed up some part numbers?
Did you buy everything from one place as a kit or did you piece it together?
