Question about meth system filter

Can an AEM methanol filter be installed on the pressure side? I have a C7 Z06 that mounts the pump in the fender well using the windshield washer tank. Hard to get to for filter cleaning.

I remember reading in the instructions that it's strictly pre-pump. The certainly had it diagrammed that way at least.

Yes, the instructions say pre-pump. I called AEM and they said it was rated for 200 psi. Would probably hold the pressure. It's rated at 200 psi at 10 amps. But may have drainage into the intake after the throttle is closed???

The issue will be the filter handling the pressure, although unless you're pumping against a dead head, dont expect to ever see 200psi.

You should never have drainage into the intake, as nozzles should never be installed in the intake unless there is a solenoid or valve to prevent intake vac sucking in fluid.

And if installed in the boost plumbing, the nozzles should always be higher than the reservoir itself, or if not, again solenoid or suitable check valves should be used to prevent siphoning.

Pretty much all nozzles these days have a small filter basket in them anyway, so there's little reason why a filter pre-pump isnt the easiest option anyway. Although I havent run a filter on mine for years and never had an issue, I'm just careful any containers used for filling are always clean.

I run an Amazon 10 buck version after the pump on my Corvette, my Mustang and my BMW. 150-200psi pumps....No issues.

I do have a solenoid activated check valve shown in the pic below. Also a small screen on the nozzle. Maybe I'm being overly cautious with the need for a filter. But probably best to install the filter like the instructions says. I already have it so might as well install even if not needed. Although I'm careful with filling just never know when something might get in there. This filter is much larger than the one on the nozzle too so will hold more impurities and may never have to clean it. Thanks!
