Centrifugal Cam in TT build? I’m looking for some cam advice. Originally I built a LSX 427 with the following cam 227/243 .615/.624 114LSA +5 (Comp Cam 54-477-11). Originally the cam was intended for a YSi set-up but I sold it to go to a TT set-up (Twin S372s). Can I still run this cam? One person told me that the cam would still be decent but not fully optimized. |
Yea you'll be fine. I've ran many blower cams with turbo setups. Not a deal breaker. |
Nothing is ever fully optimised unless they spend countless hours on a dyno testing every possible combination. If you dont want to go do the trouble of changing the cam, then dont. If that doesnt easily make 1k+ with even a stock cam, something is very badly wrong. |
I run a custom blower cam 218/228 .561/.561 114.5+5.5 in my 5.3 that I had a torqstorm center on. I pulled the centri and left the $400 cam as it still has a good bit of negative overlap and now I run a single turbo. It works well and car is plenty fast, I'm sure a turbo cam or a triple12 would work better but I'm not in a max power build. |
I ended up getting a custom cam from TJ @ Bakers Engineering |
