Default BS3 and LS cam/crank sensors?

I'm getting closer to getting my 5.3 turbo motor ready to run and had a BS3 question. I picked up a complete BS3 system with a Racepak dash that was on an LS turbo motor. ECM was sent back to BS3 and all checked good. The one thing I keep reading about is the problems people have with the BS3 and the LS cam/crank sensors communicating. Some people have no problem and others give up and buy the external crank trigger BS3 sells.

Should I just buy the external trigger before I even try to start the motor or give it a try with the OEM sensors? This is my first EFI and turbo motor so I have lots to learn.

I would sell the ecu and get a different one if it can't reliable read the crank signal.

Selling it is out..just seems odd some either have the problem and others don't. Some just changed the sensors and problem went away. I know few people who run the BS3 on BBC stuff and never have a problem just seems to be an LS cam/crank sensor glitch.
