It probably looks worse than it's going to perform, What's it for exactly?

Cbmaddox33 02-10-2019 12:45 AM

Boosted 5.3 and it’s my hot side around a foot off the header , had to make a bend to come back up into my turbo because of clearance issues

If you have sharp edges on the inside radius of the turn it might help a little to clean them up, Being it's on the pressure side I don't think it's going to hurt that much. Sometimes you don't have a choice and just have to make the best of it.

Okay well I sure do appreciate the reply man I feel a little better about it now , just gonna send it lol

If it’s not too late, I’d redo it. Take a straight piece of pipe and make a bunch of pie cuts. Then assemble the pie cuts to make the bend. It’ll be nice and gradual. You had the right idea, you’re just about 15 cuts too short. ;)

I've made some curves with pie cuts and would have suggested it but it should really be tigged, Looking at the welds on the pipe pictured I bet the pipe wouldn't flow any better but would weigh quite a bit more.

subeone 02-11-2019 12:03 AM

Cbmaddox33 02-11-2019 10:30 AM

I’m just gonna add 2 pie cuts to the insides of the pipe to help open it up some , it’s about a foot off the header

And I don’t have a tig welder , if I did I would of , I’m using a damn cut disk to make my cuts so most of the time I’m filling in gaps so I wouldn’t be able to tig them anyways . It’s my first car I building and I don’t really care how it looks or the weight of my exhaust pipe but I very much appreciate everyone’s opinion!

Suncc49 02-11-2019 12:19 PM

looking good... gonna need some support bracing for that turbo...

TPIZ92 02-11-2019 12:34 PM

That looks fine. Send it.

Cbmaddox33 02-11-2019 08:19 PM

Okay will do , waiting on k member so I will know for sure where turbo is gonna sit

Suggest you exert some care on cleaning the bird shit out of the insides, of those welds. 1 chunk going thru the turbo, and it'll get expensive, fast.

Cbmaddox33 02-13-2019 08:58 PM

Believe me it was hell , took about 2 hours to clean everything out
