Texas Mile Boosted Z06's

The March 2019 The Texas Mile was a lot of fun. The staff kept the cars moving all weekend, it was a great time. It was awesome catching up with friends/customers. We took two C6 Z06's with Arrow Machine built motors than performed perfect. Marks Z06 (car 427) was limited to under 215mph by tech so we trying to stay under. 213.8 mph for a street car you can drive anywhere is really cool.
Bobby's Z06 (car 120) ran good all weekend, just a couple mph short of a new best.

Curious...what tires were used?

007FJ Mar 25, 2019 07:22 PM

Ted's Red C6 was rolling the hell out too. 217.5

Don't know if he improved beyond that but some serious LS family representation

Hoosiers are the only that fit a z06 that will pass tech for 200+ that I know of.

007FJ Mar 25, 2019 08:13 PM

Toyo 888s are very popular if you can find the size you need.

Not sure if they have the speed rating to pass tech. There arent alot of tires that will pass for 200+mph at the mile.

Thanks the slower car is really cool. I wish we could run it all out but running 213 with no cage is pretty fast. It runs 213 mph not even trying. After the mile we put it back on pump gas and turn it down to 900 rwhp and drive it around again until the next mile. We are going bigger on the faster car so it should be 220+ in October.

Technically the R888R have a higher speed rating then the Hoosier R7. R888R have a (Y) (186+MPH) speed rating and Hoosier has a W (168MPH).

I didn't research it but I have seen the 888s on some ridiculous lambos and supras at wannagofast and the mile

The mile is funny about what tires your can run, I dont know if you run those for sure or not. I know we run the 7's cause they 100% pass tech.

Completely different tech for the wannagofast.

The Y and W and other ratings have nothing to do with how fast the tire can safely go......its just what it was tested to. They can all go much faster. The Agera RS uses a factory Y (186mph) rated Michelin.....but runs 250+ mph.

You’re missing a speed rating:
W = 168
Y = 186
(Y) = 186+

Hence why I didnt say Y I said (Y) exactly like I said that its rated higher for 186+ MPH. If you look at the Agera RS Michelin its rated for (Y).

I was just stating that even a W or a Y rating tire is not limited to their respective speeds.....they can go much faster, SAFELY, than 168 and 186.........
