5.3 C6 Z06 S476 build

Previous setup was a high revving, SBE LS7, with a Holley Hi-Ram and a dry shot of nitrous. It was a lot of fun but filling bottles got a little old and expensive. Parted out the entire setup to build a semi-budget turbo setup.

Decided to go with the tried and true SBE 5.3.

SBE 5.3 aluminum and 243 heads
BTR Stage 2 turbo cam
BTR Equalizer Intake Manifold
Flowtech 1-3/4" manifolds
Custom hot side
FI Billet s476 T4 96mm 1.10A/R
Turbosmart 40mm Wastegates
Fore Innovations Triple Pump setup (1) Walbro 274 and (2) Walbro 285s on a hobbs.
Bosch 210 Injectors
Mantic 9000 twin disc clutch
Kasper Fabrications Alternator Relocation Bracket
CX racing radiator and intercooler cold side kit

Pretty much the gist of it. Should be running by the weekend.

Will post some photos in a bit.

Filling bottles definitely sucks! You're gonna have fun with the new turbo setup.

Yes, especially lugging them around. Not fun at all. That's basically all I was going for. Just more fun all around. The previous setup was fun but I had to rev the motor out to get any kind of speed out of it, or hook up the bottle.

Tried to upload a few pics. Looks like it's waiting on mod approval or something.

Awesome, cant wait to see pics and results!

Previous setup made 646whp on motor and 830whp on a 150 shot through a 1/8" nozzle. Went best of 10.2 @ 142 with a 1.66 60ft and 10.2 @ 150 on nitrous with a 1.90 60ft, spinning all first gear. More of a street car than a track car. Never got the hang of the launch.

It looks like a ton of space, but it sure does disappear quickly.

Looking good, can't wait to see it in person.

Have we met before?

When I set the 5.3 in my Nova, it looked lost. Formerly a big block.
After I completed the hot and cold sides, fuel lines etc, filled it up big time. Still easy to work on though. No headers, just stock manifolds turned around. Plug change takes no time. No need for remote coils, funky wires etc.

I originally planned to use stock manifolds. The fab guy I was going to pay ended up falling through. I bought these manifolds to make the fab work easier on myself, and you don’t see many vettes with them. Mocked up the hot side with the help of some friends and had another guy weld it up for me. It was a fun journey and I learned a lot. This is my first turbo build on a v8.
