Default Tube front/ flex fuel rear mount radiator GTO build vsr88/348

Hey guys, long time no talk. It finally happened. I bought back my old gto about a year ago. Trashed, guy parted it out and let the bank repo it. Motor, trans front clip gone. For those of you that don’t know me, I was one of the first, if not the first to do a solid axle swap into gto with 4 link.

Anyways, I bought my Og car back and it still had the 9” under it.

After a year of searching I finally found a donor car for a reasonable price for the parts I needed. Bought this car for $1700. Tons of aftermarket suspension parts, 06 back bumper and tails, etc. plus the holy grail sap front bumper. I’ve been mulling over what to do with this car for a year, as I have a twin turbo ws6, supercharged 6 speed ss nova, heads cam converter ly5 73 camaro, and tons of other ****.

So I decided why not take this car and do some more off the wall **** with it.

So here is the plans.
I’m going to tube front it, like I did my trans am but go farther with it. Front he firewall forward everything will be gone, sams the 2 frame rails that come up. I’m going to run a couple chromoly bars from the firewall forward on each side of where the strut rides to catch the strut mount.

I’m going to use the whole tubular k member, coil overs and tubular control arms I have from an f body and graft them onto the gto. If you can’t tell from the SRA swap, I’m not about that super expensive crappy gto suspension life.

Radiator will be minntes under the rear of the car like my nova is.

Dual fuel system, pump 91 and M1. Non intercooled twin s366 or so.

I’ll probably stick my forged 348 and trans braked 4l80e into the car for now.

I’m going to build a chromoly mini structure Inside the front fenders and bumper to tie them all together so that the front can be removed in one piece.

Up in the air on engine management currently, still lots of research to do and it will be a slow process for the next few months while I gather parts and get things ready.

Thanks guys! Going to be a little slow on the start, gotta recoup some funds. Right now I’m just going to start removing parts and getting things ready, and start collecting parts.

Im undecided on which ECU to get. We picked up a good box for my dads car, it’s a turbo ls nova. I just saw yesterday that it will do 16 injectors so I’m considering it now, such a big investment, makes me nervous

Why not one big turbo? simplicity. you have a twin turbo btw, plus if you are going to street the car, one turbo may be more manageable. or not. lol

Because my engine already has a custom grind twin turbo cam, and two turbos capable of 1200 whp is a lot cheaper than one turbo that cost. The extra cost of the piping isn’t really an issue with the availability of $80 mandrel bent aluminum pipe kits I use. And, the way I have the engine bay invisioned I want to keep things balanced.

I have to retract that. I found a few singles I’m highly interested in and may actually go single now. My buddy has my old big single custom grind he never used and he wants to buy my old twin turbo cam, I may swap him my twin cam for his single.

Looking at theses. Any input?

Looking at the Garrett GT88 and the s400 82Ett.

Which part of it exactly? I plan to use deka 80’s or truck decaps for primary fueling with the 91. I’m going to run an edelbrock Vic JR or pro flow and weld in a second set of bungs. My 210’s will be my secondary injector ran on m1. I’ll use the factory gto fuel tank for 91 and a fuel cell for the M1. Gold box most likely to control it all.

Get ahole of Jose st Forced Inductions. He can set you up with a Turbo. I'd imagine a Billet S485 or thereabouts would reach your goal easily.

Thats where the above turbos are from. Although a talked to a guy that went 5.0@140 in the 1/8 with the VSR 88, which I can get for $850. So I’m going to check that out as well

Just be aware that although they look about the same size as a 7875, they are a little larger so you may or may not need to make some changes. There’s a video I found somewhere that shows them side by side.

Hell if your going big single go really big with the 94mm on3. Ive been wanting to see someone use one. You can be the experiment. Lol. Look at it as a community service. Under 1000 bucks. 1200rwhp would be no problem with room to grow later.
