So I bought a forged ls2 short block a while ago. I must of hit it with the handle of my vise . It's not very deep . Should I try to fill it ? Leave it? Do you think a mls gasket will seal it properly?

take a flat file and knock down the high spots and it will be good to go.

jimmyg 05-18-2019 12:32 PM

Just what I was hoping to hear lol. thanks

It's ruined...I'll pick it up so you can can start again.

Seriously just do what Stacy said.

lay a gasket on there to be sure but yeah it looks like its outside the fire ring

truckdoug 05-18-2019 03:30 PM

and if you file it, just draw file it

WHY is this in Forced Induction??

jimmyg 05-18-2019 04:52 PM

Well because it's a boosted application and I fig I would get a better answer here .

coz we build way more motors than the built NA motor nerds in the gen 3 internals section

The one wont affect anything, ck the one close to the water jacket and see where the gasket seals.
As said, knock down any high spots. I wouldn't be against a little JB Weld in the one close to the water
jacket just to fill it. I have run some with pretty nasty decks and they sealed, lol.
