Mishomoto race line fans? Anyone have experience?
So I've built a decent but budget friendly Colorado street toy. Basic gen 4 ls 4.8, mild cam and springs. Lightly built 4l80e still electronic controlled. 3600 stall. Big ol Borg weiner turbo and some spray to get her rolling. Also have ac installed but not plumbed yet as it's Florida and hot as ***** all the time. Planning for this I had a dual pass aluminum radiator made up to fit my locations. Dual row and core is approx just under 19" square. Not huge but double oem size for that truck and dual pass. Running stock truck water pump and grabbed a 160 thermostat. Now I built a full covering shroud, sits about 3/4" off the core. And dual 12" slim fans. They are proform fans and are rated for approx 1200 cfm each. Now I never believe any company ratings for this crap, they flow decent but I doubt the 1200 cfm part. They are quiet and fit. But temps slowly creep at idle and in traffic. Now I'm looking at spending a little more coin on a better fan. Problem is the 12" ones sit over the edge of my shroud about 3/16" and some airflow is escaping. And they are side by side. I'd like to redo them and have them staggered and probably go to dual 11" fans that fit completely. Now the big issue
I only have an area of 19x19 and 4" from core of radiator to nipple of water pump. Staggering dual fans gets me more depth but only another 1.25".
I found these mishimoto race line fans, they offer an 11" puller that flows approx 1700 cfm. That would be a good bit and supposedly they are true to their rating and draw a ton of power, which I'm currently wired for anyways. Anyone have experience with them or have any other fan recommendations that don't cost $400? I'll spend money where needed but hard time justifying spending more on fans that I did the whole motor lol

Some of their stuff is available off Ali-express. The ford fans are some of the highest
volume air moving fans I've seen, you just have to provide them a solid power setup.

I'm well aware of the early 90s taurus fans as well as mid 90s Lincoln Mark viii fans flow amazing volume. They are also 5.5"+ thick and 6" thick respectfully. And I barely have 4" between core and water pump as listed above so won't even remotely work for my application. Hence the request of information or recommendation of other but they must fit my application, please read above for fitment issues

I have 1 on my 403” LS2 with a S488. It did okay, but not great. The car would get hot in traffic and at long stop lights. I ended up adding a generic 14” pusher on the other side of the radiator (A2w setup so I had the room) and that completely solved it. I don’t think I would recommend it as the only fan... Edit: if you’re saying you want to run 2 I’d say you’re fine.

Yes that's what I was shooting for, running two of the 11" models. Approx 3400 cfm of fan. Already have independent high amp relays with large gauge wire ran so that won't be an issue. This is just a little 4.8 with some spray and a s480. Everything cerakoted and heat wrapped etc. So if one did ok two should solve it. These cheap slim fans do ok but same issue as you had with one fan quint, idle and lights she's climbing slowly

I have the derale dual fan set up . I can measure tomorrow but I doubt I it’s 4 inches . Flows 4000cfm. I’m running it with a painless PWM controller . They make them for a lot of different core sizes. Uses spal fans

Quick google search 22.5x19. But it’s 4.5 thick . You could always shave 1/2 or so off the shroud . They cool really well. I have a huge trans cooler and an ac condenser in front . My car never sees 200 even sitting in traffic with Ac on this is with a 160* thermostat

Do you have a part number Jimmy for that setup?, And my cores only 19" wide, I could have it overlap the endtanks if need be but then I'd be giving up cooling abilities versus building a better fit shroud. Still will look into it of course. But at this moment leaning towards getting the fans and making a custom shroud that's perfect for the space allowed.

nevermind, did a search of derale site and found them, model 16830, height and depth looks good, its only 4.5 thick at the fan motors, i think the center would miss my waterpump. similar to how i was going to setup the mishimotos but wider. and that may be the issue and why i was looking at making my own, the derale setup you shown is 3 inches wider than my core, that's a lot to over hang. looks like a good setup though

well unfortunately the slimmest setup derale has wont fit my core byt a solid 2.5" plus. so i ordered two of the mishimoto 10" raceline fans and they state they flow 1600 cfm each. so ill redo my shroud as deep as possible with room i have similar to derales setup and see what happens. should be here Thursday.

Too late now, but IMO Spal low profile 1.5 inch are some of the best fans on the market. Their pullers pull more CFM than their pushers for obvious reasons because the front face of the radiator isn't restricted by the fan itself like a puller fan.The top line Spal's Extreme fans are expensive, however.
Are the Raceline Mishimto fans continuous duty (high number of hours) for a daily driver? My Spal 16 inch Extreme was NOT continuous duty so one has to be careful to look at the specs before ordering..

Spal wasn't showing anything within the specs i needed for the size that would fit my requirements. just happened upon the mishimoto stuff and they make great rads and intercoolers so no reason to doubt the quality. they also come with a lifetime warrenty, however after seeing your post i didn't see any data on them as far as continuous duty rated or not, so i called them direct and they verified they indeed are rated for daily long term usage. with any luck these will fit the bill. and with aluminum sheet, gasket seal, etc i should be out less than $250 for a 3200 cfm dual 10" fan setup on a 19" square radiator core.

well the fans arrived....boy let me tell you, these turds flow some serious air. little 10" fans weigh almost 20lbs each if i had to guess. they are very solid units and the motors have some torque to them. if your in the market for a heavy duty fan then id definitely consider these. now i made a new shroud and fit them as best i could with the most air space that i could allow. doing my initial coolant system purge the truck got to 178, fan kicks on at 175 and not 45 seconds after the first fan kicked on it dropped back to 176 and stayed there. couldn't get it over that. second fan never kicked on! now cruising and making hits shell climb up to 190, but as soon as i stop at a light or below 35 mph and the fans kick in....she starts dropping temp. guess my overheating issue is solved cause she nearly cools better now stopped and at idle than she did before cruising at 55 mph. id say that's a good issue to have for a turbo A/C truck in florida

here's a pic of the new fans mounted on the simple shroud I made up the other night. Before install I added rubber flaps riveted onto the shroud over the air holes as well
