Interchiller's
 

Posting up for my brother because for some reason he's being stubborn about making another forum account.

Anyways, he's building a 70 camaro, pro touring type car. Detroit Speed everything front to back underneath it powered by an LSA and a TR6060 full floating 9". The blower has been gone through and the heads are at Texas Speed currently getting worked over and coming back with a new cam as well, think he's aiming for 900ish HP. He's looking into inter cooler options and had read about the interchillers years ago. I tried searching and could only find threads from about 3 years ago. Was looking to hear from anyone if they are worth the hassle?

In my opinion a goal of 900 horsepower would be more suited to a larger blower, which would mean more efficient and less heat. With that being the case a properly sized blower with a decent heat exchanger will do the job. I always felt water meth was a cheaper and easier option than the interchiller.

900hp through that blower is going to create a ton of heat. I've seen one interchiller installed on a Camaro and it didn't work as well as the owner had hoped. That's all I know about it.

I have seen a killerchiller work pretty damn well for a turbo application. Its a different company completely. One way or the other all these kits consist of is a plate type beer wort chiller, an expansion valve and some fittings and hose. I was gonna do one of these for awhile but all the parts could be had for like 200 bucks total.

I have a kit new in box . Bought it on here last year . Not sure if I'm gonna install or not . My temps are pretty good

They work well for intercooler temps but generally murder your normal A/C performance with any good amount of ambient heat outside. Seen pretty much all of them come through the shop through the years and in AZ I would consider it a no-go.
