How's the spool with a VS gen 2 7875?

I was set on getting this turbo until I saw this video that Richard Holdener put out that showed pretty slow spool: https://youtu.be/AOEOFz_TjZA

Anyone have any real world results?

Thanks

His engine dyno results always seem skewed, that turbo spools up plenty fast in real life. It will also knock on 900 with a 4.8/5.3.

The dual vband gen 2.5 7875 is a nice piece as well and spools even faster. For some reason I think its a little cheaper as well.

Thanks for your comments. Hopefully others will chime in as well

Switched from a Gen1 VS cast 78/75 to a Next Gen Billet 78/75 yesterday. Buttoned it up this morning...
Spools faster than the cast one, which I thought spooled good...also now makes 7# in 2 seconds or so, as opposed to 4# in 4-5 seconds.

Wow, thanks for the info. What is your setup and did you make any other changes?

Only change was the turbo.
The combination? Nothing special.
6.0, Sloppy stage 2 cam, Dorman LS2 intake, 92mm TB, 4L80e w/3000 stall, 9" w/370 gears. Went 9.94@138 2 weeks ago, with OLD turbo, and that was 3rd pass on the car since car was converted from a nitrous bracket car. Weighs 4,060 with me in it.

Thanks. What size downpipe are you running? Any particular reason you chose the VS gen2 7875?

3" downpipe with a cutout just past the starter. If cutout is closed, exhaust runs back through a Jegs catback that sounds a lot like an old Dual/Dual SLP setup.

Couple reasons I chose the Gen2 VS 78/75.
1. I knew the car reacted very well to the cast version.
2. I didnt want to make a bunch of changes to what I have, just to make it fit. (I needed an $18 3 to 2.5" adapter sleeve, and a $12 t bolt clamp)
3. It was on sale for 80 bucks less than normal price.
4. I try to use parts that are proven, AND cost effective.
This turbo checked all of the boxes for me.

Not sure if that is directed at me? I'm just answering the guy's questions.
