Dyno'ed the Hornet yesterday Been driving the car all summer, had a pretty good handle on the tune, but there was some stuff I wanted to address. Added a meth kit, since no IC'er and 93 octane, wanted to get it in a safe place. Ended up going pre turbo on the meth, using boost juice 50/50. I wasn't looking for any part HP #'s, mainly something safe, with good plug readings. Its a pretty mild setup, 5.3, small GT3-2 cam, VS 78/75 turbo, I have the luxury of being able to lock the converter @ 50MPH and actually still accelrate, lol. We made several pulls, making adjustments, ended up right around 500,10 lbs boost, nice flat torq curve. Could have pushed it higher, but the engine and trans were still healthy, lol, so time to quit. I might try a pass before tracks shut down, but no roll bar, and terrible brakes, would only run 1/8. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...d2b3581a81.jpg |
I'll bet that's a hoot to drive. That thing's clean! Where did you take it? |
Love it. Are you near Cecil? |
I took it to a guy in Dillsburg, PA, DGR-Def a blast to drive, drove to Ocean City in the spring, since I run a full exhaust interior is pretty quite, of course having OD and lockup really helps. I am prob less than 90 mins from Cecil, but prob hit Mason Dixon before the snow, lol. |
Wish I knew you were in town (Dillsburg). I would've run over and watched the fun. Let us know when you head to Mason, we're headed there trying for 5's with the 355 before the 410 goes in. |
The unknown year or model AMC hornet I used to ride to church in was not a wagon. Now I feel deprived on so many levels. |
MAAAANNNNNN. I grew up with a 75 Hornet Sedan my dad bought new. One of the cars I learned to drive in. To this day I wish I could find a clean one one to LS swap.. The hood emblem was always my favorite part. But I really want to swap an AMC Eagle. |
